Ser Theomore was having a beer, or three, with Ser Byron Swann, the southron knight turning out to have an interesting vast knowledge of stories and songs, espescially that of Serwyn of the Mirror Shield, the fool seemed to believe those tales to be real. Well, it is quite dangerous to strip a man's illusions from him...as a veteran of many schemes and scams, Theomore knows it best to engage in conversation and listen to what the other would like to talk about.

It was simply a matter of waiting for the opportune moment to bring up the topic he wanted to discuss, that of jousting. "
How do you fancy your chances of getting much further, ser?"

[I'll be skipping straight to intrigue here.

"
This is a fine field Ser Theomore, as you know yourself. The likes of us have done well to make it this far - regional tourneys are for the likes of us to win. There are Kingsguard present, Ser Jon Roxton, I even hear the famed old Ser Derrock Swann has accompanied Lady Ayleth here and intends to make a late entrance to the lists."

"
Still, if it's my day, it's my day. I'm well up on proceedings already after my first two tilts, might as well chance my arm now?"

"
You must be feeling confident too after your fine showing in the pageant."

[OOC: a fine idea and I dislike quashing creativity, but he's the wrong man for this, as he'll just quit this intrigue. One can only imagine what retribution he'll face for his lack of moral flexibility...]

"
The pageant is mostly for show, good ser."
Theomore seems somewhat ill at ease with that being brought up yet again. "
And I must admit, that stunt with the flower very nearly had me end up on the ground, but like any tilt, it's all or nothing, and to woo the crowd, one does require something extra."

"
If I can take the same odds and beat them five times in a row, then I might be champion of more than just the pageant, though two more victories and I am in the final eight, the only time before that I have managed that was in company of considerably less prestige."

Theomore again lets Ser Byron talk about what he likes to talk about, studying the man's cup, when it's empty, Theomore signals for another round, it does not take long for a Tully page to arrive with a pair of new cups. A Tully page that does not react at all to the fact that Theo only had drained half of his cup, and quite expertly avoiding to show this to the other...

[Might we then perhaps change the objective of the intrigue to "
drink him under the table"
?]

[Presumably, this one still applies for the "
Tully page"
