She gives him that warm, winning smile of hers, and nods in agreement.

I should go get our outfits picked out for tonight, and steel myself for standing my ground as the new and true Lady Marsten. I need to show mother that I am serious. Therefore, I must look as poised, elegant, and stately as possible, and that takes work,"
she stated, with a playfully regal haughtiness. "
And I need to make sure you look a fine Lord-to-be."

He chuckles.

she replied, half-reassuring, half-telling. "
Besides, I didn't know I was going to marry you days ago."

Very true. I probably looked a bumbling fool in the library that day. But in my defense, Gods how you have grown."
He give her a devilish grin and tries to tickle her ribs with the hand rubbing her back.

She smooths his hair with an apologetic look.

Poor Ben. All flustered to see me a woman grown after so long. You didn't seem quite as flustered last night, though,"
she whispers in his ear, before shifting out of his lap and standing up.

Ben's jaw hangs open and his cheeks turn red. His eyes never wavering from Corrine as she rises.

He rises a bit stiff. "
You ... I do not even know what to say to that."
He shakes his head, laughing.

He finally looks away to the distant bleachers. "
Guess you better be going, huh?"

Corrine chuckles coyly. She then takes both his hands.

I should go, but I will meet you and Ellie outside the Tullison pavilion for the evening festivities. Be ready on time, or Lady Marsten might be cross,"
she adds with a giggle.

He challenges her coy smile with his own.

She folds her arms and purses her lips, one eyebrow arching. None of which covers up her blushing.

She struggles to keep a straight face, and she stifles a laugh as she steps into his arms.

Looking down into her eyes still tightly in his embrace. "

His hand brushes her cheek and places some hairs behind her ear.

He squeezes her hand.

While I am happy to be bucking tradition, doung so is not always the best route for everyone. And yes, I'm afraid thst, as my lord husband, you will be involved in House decision-making. We can discuss the Barthelds later though, as I really must get going, or I shall never leave your side."
