Having marked and memorized the spot where the trail started in the early morning Ben returned late morning to pickup the trail. Hopefully the full daylight and a lessened time constraint would aid in following it.

Ben reins Strax in at the scene. He dismounts and leaves Ellie saddled. He looks up at her with disappointment. "
I wish you had not insisted on coming. You would be much safer at Raventree."


Ellie narrows one eye and cocks her head. "
No way you are leaving me out now. All that work. Now this is the fun part."


Holding the horse reins he leads them on.

Ser Benedict's trail leads him to a cave surrounded by the bones of wild animals - it's dark and foreboding, mainly it difficult to tell if the cave is presently occupied or not...

Ben begins angling for a better veiw, then thinks better of it. Standing he shakes his head dismissively. He attempts to stride quietly back to Ellie and the horses.

He shrugs and whispers. "
Looks to be an animal den."

Inside, out of sight, a bear sleeps on undisturbed for now, dreaming of thawing waters and plentiful fish in the Riverland's many waterways.
