Ser Jon knew the plan of attack and issued the orders accordingly.
Wyl Combat, Issue Order; Ready to A2: 3d6k3 10
Sprint forward 160 yards upon being given signal 3.

Round "2", Wyl Order 3
Lord Wyl harumphs loudly. "Looks like they are too afraid to engage. Stay ready, they no doubt have some vile trick up their sleeves."
Order: Pass

Iniative for next round is 6 from Theo, but if Wyl keeps passing, then we might just speed through Vhagar doing his thing and us giving ready orders for I4 through I10? +those two last orders which may be used on something else then retry failed orders.

Re: Storming Wyl
Wyl was only passing for want of targets. That won't last much longer. Was Triston your final order? It would be useful to have a complete list, and for the orders to be marked with the round and what order it is, as I did with the Wyl orders. Large fights can get confusing, a little labeling makes it much easier.

Standing orders phase:
Units that received orders this round do nothing.
Units with Readied actions remain readied.
Units ordered to Defend take the defend action.
Engineers: Engineer Defense w/ Castle: 2d6+8 19
Garrison: Garrison Defense w/ Shields & Castle: 3d6+8 16
Infantry: Infantry Defense w/ Shields & Castle: 3d6+8 20
Lord Wyl: Round 3 Intitiative: 4d6 15
Lord Wyl elects for the Targaryan forces to go first.

Re: Storming Wyl
Vhagar comes around to take another swipe at the Wyl war engines, though rather than the engineers set to man them, he grabs a catapult with his claw, taking it and two men clinging on for dear life up and away a hundred yards away from the walls while climbing before lazily letting it go, it seems forever to fall before crashing to splinters, the two Dornishmen flailing in the air before coming to an abrupt stop.
[First Targaryen command, Aemond+Vhagar:
Attack catapult: 9d6 25 one less catapult.]

Round 3, Wyl Order 1
Pass
[Seriously, just start trashing the units. That would have destroyed any of them, even defending, and that was a low roll - a full 6 points below average. This would be over by now if Vhagar attacked whatever unit Lord Wyl was in these past two turns - he'd be dead and the Dornish don't have any subcommanders or heroes left to take over. The rank and file would rout and Aemond would have a lossless victory.]

Re: Storming Wyl
[I believe doing that would be against instructions from Reader, cheap little pot-shots at their engineers/siege is mostly what we'll be getting while we're doing charge at castle through ready and push, he could have smashed their scorpions by now, and then we could fast forward while we obliterate everything with our scorpions, more cinematic to actually storm the castle]
R3, Targ order 2:
Theomore readies I4 to sprint forward 160 yards upon signal 3
ready I4: 4d6k3 8 TN 6, so works.
If Wyl keeps passing, then plan is:
3: Theo readies I5
4: Theo readies I6
5: Alfred readies I7
6: Alayne readies I8
7: Jon readies I9
8: Triston/Ereth readies I10
9: Triston/Ereth retries any of the above orders that failed. Otherwise probably Horse Archers to defend.

Wyl Orders for round 3
"I think I'll take a nap. Wake me if they decide they want to fight."
Pass, Pass, Pass.
Vhagar being Vhagar may not be the most cinematic or PC-centric scene, but this isn't cinematic or PC-centric either - it's slow and boring, and the PCs are scarcely involved. At this pace Vhagar will have defeated half the dornish forces by the time any of your forces get up the wall anyway... and first up the wall will be some nobody infantryman, not a PC or even notable NC.

speedroll orders 3 through 6, all TN 6: 2#4d6k3 18 13 5d6k3-1 12 4d6 12
Jon, Triston and Ereth is up for 7/8/9. (Will check if they're willing to let me do rollings for as long as all we do is charging across the battlefield to speed this up to the part where there's any fighting to be had, defenders likely to be left mostly intact from Vhagar's fooling around by the time the Targaryen foot is within sprinting distance of the castle.).
Then iniative: 3d6 7

Re: Storming Wyl
So with PC permissions:
R2: Jon (readyI9)->Ereth(readyI10)-Triston(retry failed or HA to defend): 3d6 13 5d6k4 11 5d6k4 22
HA defends (agility 6+champion+shields): 8d6-1 26 Actually, does armor penalty count on these agility tests? Since I think those engineers would be routed (and reorganized again, I'd wager, it's not like lord Wyl doesn't have the orders to spare for that) if so.
Theo's iniative for R3: 7
Plan for R3 if Wyl keeps passing:
order 1: Vhagar
orders 2: Hmmm, maybe we should try some horse archerying? That defend bonus lasts for this combat round? Should have a chance of putting an end to things.

Re: Storming Wyl
[So word of God is that we can declare that House Wyl looses without any damage being dealt to units from PC houses and have the scene wrapped up with descriptions of Vhagar smashing the gate and Targaryen ground forces pouring through (with any PC wanting a crack at first over the wall can give it a go) under cover from Vhagar, Horse Archers doing agility shenanigans and scorpions (Horse Archers would probably get rid of their scorpions so that ours will have free reign, and we can always have Vhagar take care of them otherwise)]

[Okay. Anticlimactic, I guess, but a win's a win. I look forward to seeing the final draft of First Over The Wall.]

What are the rules for First over the Wall. The proposed gauntlet of tests from earlier?

Re: Storming Wyl
Congrats on slaughtering more innocents.
TBH, Wyl had no chance against Vhagar alone, and only a slim chance against the army alone.
I would have enjoyed seeing a proper battle play out, though.
I though I had made the Bloodriders a bit OP, but those cavalry archers are even worse (I intentionally stopped the BR at Marksmanship 4) Also, how did they get 180xp of upgrades?? That's 4 upgrades past elite, and this is the first battle I recall them being in...

Re: Storming Wyl
Elite+2 (Elite is 140XP, then each +1 training gets them 20XP each, well +1 ability rank to be precise, but amounts to same thing), they appeared earlier as regular archers, horses was added later. I think they got something like +3 training in total from battles.

Re: Storming Wyl
Oh, oops, I mathed wrong, elite +2, not elite +4.
Still, given that we haven't had that many battles that's some lucky survival rolling.

Re: Storming Wyl
I guess I need to edit a few posts where I was damning the scorpions (in the future). I assumed they'd at least be taking some potshots. Oh well.
Or maybe Aerion just had an actual scorpion in his boot or something, during the trip.
