Tullisons, Blackwoods and Brackens
Taking it out of the IC:
The Tullison writeup says that Sterl died fighting the Brackens, and Dunstan's mother and up until quite recently, his regent as well, is a Blackwood. Which seems to contradict the part about us just recently having supported the Brackens. Plus all the Tullison roleplay so far suggests a rather pro-Blackwood attitude, and seems to have utterly ignored that line in the character creation thread.

I agree with Theomore, it would make sense from the religious side - but Lady Moraine was in charge during that time and she is a Blackwood. That reason would trump the religious one.
Think we should continue as we did so far, play as Blackwood supporters in that conflict.

The players have spoken and the mists of time shift to accommodate your preference. I'll change the character creation thread.
This creates a nice religion/family tension for House Tullison. This happy accident should be a better story.

I would also point out, as it would seem to be relevant to the way the story is developing, that if I recall correctly, the Coldbrooks supported the Blackwoods as well (though I admit, that's from memory because I've been looking for the last 15 minutes, and I can't find the damn info - I just recall a mention of us coming to the aid of 'our brothers in the faith').
Interesting times ahead, I feel.

You're correct, Coldbrook definitely followed religious links and supported the Blackwoods.

So the Marstens are now the only player house that fought for the Brackens?

Well I supported the Brackens, if that's any consolation. Got me a nice bit of plunder out of it an' all...

Do we have an idea of what level of conflict this latest Blackwood/Bracken feud reached? My impression was that it was mostly saber-rattling, and some border war style skirmishes instead of full-on pitched fighting.

Border skirmishing and chevauchees/raiding, rather than an enormous pitched battle.

Re: Tullisons, Blackwoods and Brackens
This is a very old thread, but I think it's important to our current situation. Perhaps if each House posted their previous history with both House Blackwood and Bracken. We have a lot of new players.
House Bartheld
It was known that House Bartheld had strong ties with House Bracken, and specifically Lord Haig Bracken. Both Brom Bartheld and (especially) Ser Fendrel Bartheld entertained the Lord often and curried his favour. The Blackwoods did not enjoy nearly so close a relationship, but House Bartheld was not antagonistic towards the House either. Since Davain Bartheld took over the House, relations have cooled somewhat between the Barthelds and Brackens. The House has not directly invited the House to any Bartheld functions, but neither have they refused hospitality to the Brackens. Both Houses still share strong political ideals and have a common religion.
