The Beuty of the Sea Empty The Beuty of the Sea

Post by Ereth Redwain Wed Mar 08, 2017 4:10 pm

Ereth hoped they saw no battle on a ship, his heavy armor could spell his doom if he ever fell, but so far the sea was calm and a gentle breeze, until the drums interrupted his thoughts. A beautiful ship and several others behind it approaches the Ironborn fleet, the iron men were getting ready to attack joy in their faces for they probably saw plunder and some fun, while Ereth was marbled at such beautiful ships, but the ship leading the enemy was beyond compare. A Myr most likely, they have great artisans and it seems the wealth to pay for such extravagance. Ereth braced for the impact when the ironborn hull impacted the lead ship's hull the battle ensued with the myrish sailors jumping on to the Jackal's Feast deck that was a bit lower than their ship. Ereth stood watching the fight until a man with plate with some beautiful work holding a flail with a spiked skull for a head pointed it at Ereth.

"Trygar Drahar, and I'm here ensure you go no further, and of course any plunder I make is welcome"

Ereth nodded "Only plunder I see is your ship here, and what Myr is willing to spend to get you back"

Trygar answered with a smile "You are out of your depth, let me assist you in showing you where it is"

Ereth closed some distance to Trygar and gave a small prayer to the seven to keep him safe and victory.

A fake smile from Trygar, an expression of a challenge borne of great confidence, to show the young lordling what he is in for.

And as Ereth steps forward, Trygar's smile crumples in a bloody roar as they clash. He's not quick though, and today of all days.

Ereth takes a deep breath and readies for what is to come. Trygar seemed to not have very good sea legs or it was just Ereth's lucky day and he would make a quick gamble with a feint to smash his opponent's leg with his shield to distract him of the blow to the head with the side of his blade to knock him out.

Distract: 3d6 15 TN 12 - 1 DoS
-3CD
Knockout: 6d6k4+1 23 TN 12 - 3 DoS
-5CD; unconsciousness. (Knock down?)

[It would have to be a knockdown, and it is successful. Knockout cannot be used against a foe who is not aware of you. A foe who loses Awareness to CD can see you, he's just not going to be able to anticipate your next move. Unfortunately, after his turn, his CD will be 8 again.]

Trygar Drahar snarls angrily, his eyes cross as he falls on the ground. He stands back up, roaring as he makes a rising swing with his flail.

The attack glances off of Ereth's plate.

[ooc: Is Standing up TN 9 with a -3 from Full Plate? If it's not a knock down I should count as a normal attack. Otherwise I have to roll Athletics to knock him down. Since that is 4DoS and 10 dmg or he is Knocked out on the floor, because I won't try to trip him if he has a CD of 5. At least not this turn.]

[OOC: The standing roll would have the -3 AP unless a fatigue point was spent to ignore it (which has the side effect of boosting CD until the next turn, too.

If I am understanding correctly though, it is moot in this case. Ereth you are saying that instead of Knockout you would have done a standard attack; that is quite reasonable and means we don't need a new roll.

23 vs 5 CD, 4 DoS for 20-10AR = 10 damage. Trygar is forced to take an injury to avoid defeat.
Trygar is at 2/9 health, 1 Injury and 0 fatigue. He is standing.

Loreia, go ahead and redo Trygar's turn in light of the changed circumstances.]

[Sounds good and I apologize for missing the penalty.]

Trygar winds up and strikes back with vengeance. His flail comes down and crashes on Ereth's shield as it gives way and smashes into him.

Round 1, Reckless: 6d6 21
9*3 -AR is 17 damage. Ereth's shield loses 1 Def.

Combat
Initiative: 3d6-3 7
Combat Defense: 10 (Base 10, -3 Armor, +3 large shield)
Fighting (Long Blades): 6d6k4+1;
Damage 5
AR 10, Bulk 4
Health: 2/11
F/I/W: 0/2/0
[So his total after my AR is 17 correct? This is what I feared lots of damage per smack and shattering.]

Ereth feels the pain as his shield and armor took most of the damage, but his shield was starting to give if Trygar would hit him with that kind of force, so Ereth aims carefully and strikes again.

Aim +1B
Attack: 7d6k4 17 - 1 (forgot to add injuries)

3 DoS = 5dmg after AR.

Use 1 Fatigue if he continues to be Reckless or Trips.
[orokos, you bless me and then you punish me like I don't need the lucky rolls was hoping for 4 DoS but rolled a lot of 2's and 1's]

[He's a fiend for sure, but he is wearing out.]

Trygar lays into Ereth again like the animal he is, roaring the whole time, fighting mad. Thanks to a shift in the lord's tactics, he gains not an inch further.

Round 2, Reckless: 6d6-3 16
Wise use of fatigue, no damage to Ereth.

[Alright. I don't actually know, I just assume that's the case. Some may be motivated to kill (my character is), others may do something different.]

Trygar's fire dims, and he can take no more. He falls in a bloody heap and drifts out of consciousness. After the battle, he is taken below deck to get stitched up and tossed in a cell. In all likelihood, a hanging awaits in the capital.

[Consequence: Unconscious. Trygar is captured.]

Redwain, sorry. Was getting mixed up in reward types.
Princess/Queen points are awarded on behalf of the parent house, but resources go to the banner house.
