As Day 7 of the festivities reach its end, another highlight is scheduled to take place. The stalls are packed with smallfolks and nobles alike as Lord Tully's herald steps forward on the jousting ground.
"
Ladies and Sers, we had the opportunity to witness an excellent Tourney so far! 128 riders started and we saw everything: Skillful technique, brutal falls and injuries, two mystery knights! Fan favorites being defeated early and dark horses enjoying unlikely success! Please join me in the introduction of our two finalists: On one side we have a knight from the Stormlands, a man that despite his age defeated every opponent with ease, thanks to his incomparable skill in horse riding: Ser Derrock Swannn!"

The smallfolks roar, when the old knight enters the Tourney ground through the flap of a pavillion and presents himself to the masses.
"
And on the other side, the relatively unknown Marsten underdog, who fought his way to the final with pure determination, a name you should definitely remember for future tournaments: Ser Kevan Lyyyraaas!"
The masses are just as loud as before, as an underdog usually enjoys some support by the smallfolks.
Kevan steps through the pavillion entrance onto the Tourney ground. He too waves at the spectators and greets his opponents, before mounting his horse. His breastplate is once again decorated by the handkerchief in black and red.

Ser Derrock had taken a hard match from the equally storied Ser Bryndon Hightower, a true clash of champions. Ser Kevan's legend was only just beginning, while Ser Derrock had already written his name into the rolls of honour of every jousting field in Westeros.

The much anticipated final of the joust is over within the first tilt. Ser Kevan rides aggressively, trying to at least challenge his opponent, but the agile Ser Derrock twists in his saddle and manages to dodge the lance, while his own hits his opponent square in the chest. Marked by the injuries from the previous joust, Ser Kevan does not have the strength left to stay in the saddle and he tumbles from his horse onto the ground.

The crowd cheered for both men - who could resist the tale of the doughty old warhorse's triumph, or the brave Ser Kevan who had defied all expectations to make the final?

Words were exchanged between Ser Derrock Swann and Ser Kevan Lyras, with Ser Derrock himself restoring his vanquished foe to his mount and guiding Ser Kevan to select the crown of wild river flowers that would be used to proclaim the queen of love and beauty.

"
Mine eyes are dimmed with age! Let a younger man chose our queen of love and beauty."

This chivalrous gesture only made the crowd cheer more loudly for the Aurochs of House Swann - all agreed that this was a true knight.

[OOC: Ser Kevan - please make a D7 Early Evening thread where you give a short speech and proclaim the queen of love and beauty. Other PCs are welcome to post their reaction in the same thread.

Your award gives +1 glory to the recipient and if given to an NPC will raise their disposition by one level towards you, if they are an appropriate choice. Choice carefully, for an inappropriate recipient and speech may have dire political consequences in your moment of glory!]
