- Ser Baelon Waters, the supposed Bastard of Prince Daemon Targaryen - skilled enough to defeat Athelstan Pyke in a trial by combat, but cautious in his progress thus far
- Ser Loreth Lansdale, rumoured to be amongst those considered as Kingsguard material
- Ser Benedict Blackthorne, having overcome his opponents with adroitness and poise. Lady Corrine Marsten's husband to be (as far as the crowd was aware!) was making a name for himself in his own right.
- Loreia Merrgal, a robust Northerner, but thrice fold unpopular with the crowd for the sins of being both a woman, a Northerner and succesful
- Ser Jon Roxton, named "
Bold Ser Jon"
for his exploits, but exhausted and injured from a ferocious duel with Ser Bryndon Hightower earlier in the melee

Hmm... Ser Loreth is the biggest threat, but Ser Jon should be able to keep him occupied, at least for a little while.
I'd rather not hurt Ben if I can avoid it. I've already hurt one future family member today, and that is far more than I wanted.

Baelon steps up to Loreia and strikes at her, being sure to keep his defense up against her heavier sword. He hits, but his blade fails to penetrate her armor.

The lightning quick Ser Loreth grunted in pain as Ser Bejen's sword bit in to his arm. Despite being sorely pressed by Loreia and Ser Benjen, he still found the strength to deal a decisive blow to the exhausted Ser Jon Roxton.

Now but four remained to lay a claim to the title of melee champion.

I could easily win this melee if I just stayed out of this for just a little longer... but I'll not have it said that I used injured teammates, family, friends, or fellow Coldbrook vassals as fodder to ensure my own victory.

Baelon runs behind Ser Loreth into a pincer position, opposite Ben. His sword lashes out, the tip sliding in the breastplate under the arm and and emerging crimson.
