[OOC: This happens during my visit at Raventree Hall for the investigation, though I will use a second time slot for it]

The first day was almost over, when Ser Kevan took a break in his examination of Raventree Hall to visit his nuncle-in-law. He found Ser Myles Blackwood in his private chambers and although the guards in front of his doors seemed unwilling to let him enter, they changed their opinion after a short interrogation, where he was identified as Sofia's husband.
He felt a bit nervous. After clearing his throat and readjusting his tunic, he finally stepped through the door.
The acting regent in times like these, I am sure he has different things to do than talk to that upstart that married his niece...

"
Ser Myles, I am bringing you my condolences for your losses and also your niece Sofia's. She is grieving and could not made it here in person, though she sends you all the best during these dark times."

He handed the acting regent the dried white rose his wife made him bring as a sign of her mourning.

House Blackwood's regent is on the short-side of average, the fine features characteristic of his house hidden by a slightly untidy beard. By this hour, he has retired to review a strange looking book, a history of the iron bank of braavos.

Ser Myles smiles sadly at the offered rose.

"
My thanks Ser Kevan. My niece has known too much sorrow for one so young, but at least has her knightly husband to lean on. I shall carry it with me until you deliver the King's justice to House Bracken.

"
As sad as Lady Sofia's trials have been, I fear more for her young brother, best on all sides by false friends."

It goes unsaid that Ser Myles is now the power behind the throne in house Blackwood...

[OOC: intrigue off stage, Ser Myles triumphs but accepts a negotiated yield from Ser Kevan.]

Ser Myles was a skilled negotiator, but seemed willing to answer Ser Kevan's queries in exchange for some of the glory associated with the younger knight's burgeoning reputation. House Blackwood would need all the influential friends it could gather in these trying times, and fraternising with prominent knights was a good a source of renown as any.
