[ooc: This occurs shortly before Jamys meets Septon Arlyn and Luecian Longbow.]

With The Seven so close to Corrine's heart, her first investigation is into the septry. The shattered statues and scattered paraphernalia distress her, and she says a silent prayer as she sorrowfully surveys the chaos. She speaks to whomever she can about the desecration. She already had an idea of what she was looking for, but if these had been bandits, rather than Blackwood men, had they been sent by House Blackwood, or was this an unrelated crime? And, importantly, could they still be traced?

Even aside from the investigation of the feud, this was a crime against the Gods, and Corrine wanted justice doubly done for it.

The monks try to tell the truth, but their answers do not seem to be completely reliable. The attack took place under cover of dark, and they do not have experience of military matters, so are unable to reliably identify the men and their tactics. However, they insist that this is the kind of tactic that House Blackwood would use. Corrine politely avoids responding to that.

The monks note that the attack took place under cover of darkness, but swear they saw Blackwood shields among the attackers. They agree to testify against House Blackwood, despite their fears for their safety. One monk mentions that it is an ill thing that the retired old Ser Kyle Bracken had moved out to live alone in a hermitage. He was a fine knight in his youth and would have rallied the monks to defend the sept better, or at least preserve its treasures.

While combing through the rubble, Corrine finds a battered old round Blackwood shield. The monks exclaim that this is clear proof of Blackwood guilt, but Corrine is less sure. Finding something so damning at the scene feels, somehow, too convenient.

She resolves to ask around in town tomorrow about people selling septry paraphernalia, or spending a lot of money.
