Corrine's second awakening was less distressing than the one she had during the night. She was not alone this time, and it made her deeply grateful. Not in a rush to get up, still tired from the restless night, she just snuggled into Ben's back, her arm draped over him.

[Benedict Marsten]

Ben laid his arm over hers and pulled her in closer. "
Good morning, love."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

She kissed his shoulder lightly;


"
I'm sorry I shouted at you last night."

[Benedict Marsten]

He rolls to face her. "
I am sorry for letting whole situation get to me. I just fear some day he may he may explode like the mountains of Valyria and you will be upon the precipice."


Reaching across and laying his hand upon her low back he draws her in. Leaning his head forward his lips close to her ear he speaks. "
Please take Ser Markus if you are to go with him. I do not doubt your faithfulness just his... redemption."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

She nods slowly in understanding;


"
I will take Ser Markus with me, in addition to my guardsmen. I'll leave immediately if there is any sign of trouble. I promise. I never want to hurt or upset you, my love."


She nuzzles his face affectionately, slowly starting to become more alert, the fog of sleep gradually melting away in the amber shine of morning.

"
I spoke with Yoren last night. He wanted me to pass on a gift to Benji. He and Athelstan will dine with us tonight. He wants to show their good faith, to assuage your fears, and give us an opportunity to clear the air properly. I think it'll be good for us all."

[Benedict Marsten]

He brushes his fingers through her hair,pausing at the mention of dinner. "
We have dined with Athlestan and cleared the air at Yoren's sermon. I guess will have to make a habit of it every time we meet."


He laughs sincerely. The nights sleep having eased much of his tension.

"
What was the gift? Are we to present it from Yoren?"
He waves his hand while shaking his head.

"
Never mind. There is a more important question..."
His crooked smile is topped by his adoring gaze.

Corrine is trying to respond to Ben's quick succession of statements, but then his last one intrigues her;


"
What do you mean?"
she asks, raising an eyebrow. "
What is the more important question?"

"
Will you forgive me, my love?"
Ben waits with bated breath. His body tensing in worry.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

She slides her arms around his neck and pulls herself close to him, hugging him tightly;


"
Yes. Will you forgive me?"
she replies, her voice cracking a little with emotion.

[Benedict Marsten]

He smiles wickedly as he pulls himself on top of her. "
Of course I forgive you. But I believe you have violated the Kings Peace by stirring the emotions of on of the King's Royal investigators. Now we need figure out a proper punishment."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

His sudden amorousness makes her squeak a little in surprise, and his amusing teasing makes her laugh heartily;


"
Is that so? What makes you think you have the authority to punish me, your liege lady?"
she jests, her expression one of playful mock-haughtiness.

[Benedict Marsten]

"
Well if not our vows to the gods then surely this"
he shifts his hips till his firmness rests against her. "
will get me somewhere."


He can not keep his expression serious, a smile cracking his façade and laughter pouring forth.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

She fails to stifle fresh laughter, though her mouth curls into an interested smile.

"
Hmmm, well, that's the kind of punishment I think I could accept,"
she giggles. "
After all, we mustn't spare the rod,"
she adds, suggestively, her eyes twinkling wickedly, pleased with her play on words.

[Benedict Marsten]

He leans down to plant light kisses on her neck line. Then raises his lips to her ear. "

Ben raises up onto his knees, his eyes lingering on his Corrine as he does so.

She is rendered speechless for a moment, but grins impishly.

As my lord commands,"
she purrs.
