[D8:LE] Good Food and Good Friends (closed)
The rain had not abated, and Baelon was grateful to get out of it for some time. Even the highest quality canvas could only do so much to keep out the moisture - sure, you don't get rained on, but the clinging clammy dampness still pervades.
Warrior's Seat, in contrast, was warm, dry, and brightly lit. A very pleasant change, and Baelon could feel the various stresses of the day fade. That he and Gwyn were on their way to a dinner party on the invitation of one of his best friends, Ser Eoric, may have had something to do with it as well. As trying as the past week had been, it hadn't been all bad - Baelon would miss seeing so many of his friends on a regular basis.
Entering the dining chamber, Baelon sees Ser Eoric and another couple, whom Baelon knows by sight and reputation, but not personally - the Lord and Lady of the Twins.
"
Ser Eoric, my friend, thank you for the invitation. Any chance to get out of the rain is welcome, but doing so by dining with you is an irresistible offer."
Upon being introduced, he says:
"
Lord Forrest, Lady Sabitha, truly it is a pleasure to finally meet you properly."
OOC: Let's get the mechanics done and out of the way.

Gwyn, at Baelon's arm, smiled and sparkled as she curtsied to the Freys.
"
Truly a pleasure indeed. That it's taken so long, and had to happen in this somewhat grim setting is a great regret of ours...but overshadowed by the greater joy of this meeting finally coming to pass."
(OOC - Gwyn's rolls will be Assist attempts vs DC 9 on turns when Baelon is at full Composure, and Mollify attempts vs DC 12 on turns he's suffered influence damage.)

(OOC note, I have forgotten to adjust my rolls for Disposition towards Baelon, which I believe adds 5 to my attempts to Mollify or Assist him. Not sure if that makes much of a difference, but there we are. )

Re: [D8:LE] Good Food and Good Friends (closed)
[OOC: I'll crunch the numbers when I get to a computer. However, I'm pretty sure Status(breeding) tops out at 2b?
Also, while it won't make a difference here, I don't think assists use speciality dice? If so I've been doing it wrong... still, keeping 4 and being affectionate means never failing to assist, so no difference for this intrigue.

Ok, so on review, per page 67 "
A success grants +1B, and every two degrees thereafter grants you another +1B."
That means only the first and third DoS matter.
And here's the fun bit - it makes a critical difference in this intrigue. As rolled, The Freys wins in round 6. If he has one less DoS in either round 1 or round 2, We win in round 7.

Thanks for crunching the numbers and for catching my mistake.
Dropping a random extra dice doesn't hurt Lord Frey's roll (applied to 2nd roll).

Yield offers/straight to consequences, plus a bit of roleplay hopefully]
Thanks for crunching the numbers and for catching my mistake.
Dropping a random extra dice doesn't hurt Lord Frey's roll (applied to 2nd roll).

Re: [D8:LE] Good Food and Good Friends (closed)
[OOC: negotiated yield. Everyone goes to Friendly with one another, House Frey gets 2 wealth.]
Lord Frey proved amiable company - the kind of man who by deed and character adds credibility to any cause. He was as different from his brutish kinsman Ser Benjen as night is from day, confessing that the unpleasantness at Riverrun had caused some consternation with his family and with the nearby Houses Lucas and Daleford, but that he felt he had the matter in hand now.
Lady Sabitha was sterner than her husband, but still far from the harridan that Green propaganda painted her as. Still, while able to play the convivial noblewomen with skill she occasionally mischievously dropped subtle hints towards livelier, more scandalous pursuits. Some rumours have a foundation in truth after-all.
Both looked forward to Lord and Lady Drakeson accompanying them to Lord Redwain's marriage as their guests...
