Ben knew the Velaryions would head for their ships, escape their only option. This being his first visit to King's Landing, he had no knowledge of how best to get there. Having lost track of Kevan, Ben looked for any remaining friendly faces. If one thing scared him more than the large city, it was being alone in that great unknown city. In the crowd he spotted Lord Ereth marching off with a stoic purpose. Ben was grateful they had gotten on well and for a familiar person in this toxic setting.

He doubles his steps to catch the new Riverland Lord and then matches them. They exchange naught but a nod as they press out the gates and into the tumult of the streets.

Not far into the city and the two intercede a group of the Velaryion entourage. They make for a cross street and quickly double back as they find the route literally and figuratively blocked by the hulking heir to Dulver. The highborn retreat with a host of soldiers, leaving behind a murder of men at arms.

Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton) Empty Re: Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton)

Dulvers were retreating slowly, maintaining discipline, and leaving bloodshed behind. Ser Walton, towering over all with his height and width, was shouting orders and striking at anyone, who dared to step closer to him. His full plate armor was shining in sun, with not many traces of dents and scratches on it, yet. At first glance, even untrained eye could say, that armor is new. On his chest was painted sigil of his House, present also on his tower shield. In heir's right hand was longsword covered in blood, which is more handy in crowd than greatsword hanging on his back. Walton was not wearing a helmet, with only hairband to keep his long blonde hair away from his face.

In the very same moment, when highly born arrived, few man at arms jumped out from one of side alleys, trying to encircle enemies. Ser Walton grabbed one of his soldiers and literally pulled him to take his place, while he charged new enemies, shoulder to shoulder with Marsten and Redwain.

Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton) Empty Re: Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton)

Post by Ereth Redwain Sun Apr 24, 2016 10:22 pm

Ereth was going about his business trying to secure some shipping from King's Landing to Essos and the seven kingdoms. Ereth didn't really paid attention to the commotion that was around him distracted as he was taking in the enormity of the city. Ereth continued to walk with a purpose and not so much because he had one, but because that way people wouldn't pester him as much and think that he knows were he is going, even if he barely had a clue, and to make sure people wouldn't disturb him much he was waling with his fine suit of armor and a couple of his men beside him, that he sent in an errand while he waited for them while he buys himself something to snack on, this blasted city streets stretch for ever or they seem to.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Lord Benedict and while he was to smile he noticed some distress on the man and they exchanged nods that spoke more and enough words to know something was going on and they were both happy to find another fool wandering by itself here. Not far in after Ereth followed the lead of Ben they found out what the commotion was, but a wave of Velaryion men had already pass and lord Benedict seemed keen on stopping them.

They ran a cross the street and came upon the imposing figure of Ser Walton, the hulking knight of Dulver. While his manners as the rumors say might not be the best, Ereth has no doubt he can trust his sword in a time like this. Yet it seems the three of them are washed aside by the Velaryon entourage of men, but they made sure that they had to leave more man than they wanted to make their escape towards the Mud Gate. In deed.

The Hook was about to get bloody with fish guts, that is Velaryion guts today, but the streets of King's Landing are never empty and today those curious to come see and those that didn't react on time are going to bleed before the fight could probably start. All Ereth can do is find the most advantageous position and fight. "
I'm getting old for this, but the cider is on me after this"

changed and moved Benedict also, to make our formation also synchronized. I put opponents in V/line, as I thought that it would be nice to have them in formation, as they are trained soldiers :;

Ser Walton with brunt charges his opponent- man at arms (#6) losses his balance and heavily lands on the ground. While Dulver hit one opponent with his shield, he strikes the second one with longsword, leaving it in opponent's belly. Enemy leaned forward and slowly slumped to the ground with both hands holding longsword's hilt.

Ereth moves to cover Ben's flank after watching the men at arms target him over the more imposing Ser Walter. Moving with care to position himself and try to injure the man in front of Ben.

The surprise move from Lord Ereth caught the Velaryion men at arms out of guard and a cut in the neck is enough to make him fall grasping for his neck, as the inevitable torrent of blood pours out and there is little he can do. "
By the seven, lord Benedict get up, before we step on you or they decided to chop your head of while your on the ground"

Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton) Empty Re: Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton)

Ereth makes a quick turn to cut the man that hit him while giving aid to lord Benedict, but the men at arms mail deflects his quick attack that lacked the strength to cut any deeper.

: 6d6k4 17 1DoS= 0 damage, thanks to Ben's fatigue point added.

Seeing that they are two on one, and there is not engaged in fight enemy, man at arms makes step to side and sends sweeping blow towards Benedict...

Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton) Empty Re: Detour - Men at Work(Ben, Ereth, Walton)

Post by Benedict Marsten Tue May 10, 2016 11:05 pm

Having recovered from the fall and very odd turn of events, Ben falls into a warrior's training. He smashes the closes guard with his shield. Having the intended effect of shifting the man's stance. In turn Ben's Tullison wedding gift does what it was forged to do. It bites through steel breastplate and tough muscle, bringing death.

Before the body hits the ground Ben flicks his sword wrist, directing the blood coursing down the fuller at the guard engaged with Ereth. The small spatter does little to phase the obvious veteran.

Ser Walton seeing that opponent lost balance, simply pushes him with shield. Helpless soldier landed heavily on his back. Ser Walton dropped his longsword and shield, and slowly took out his greatsowrd off his back. Man at arms was trying to crawl away, but impassive Dulver was closer and closer, as man at arms' destiny...

Ereth is getting restless and decides to make an advantage for all so they can dispatch the men quicker by stepping on the men at arms foot and a slight push with his shield causing him to fall and following up with his sword to make a good cut in the man's leg hoping it was deep enough to bleed him out or at least keep him on the floor.
