"
Like a sack of potatoes, Ser. I could have mastered fighting skills, but in our lands horses are not that popular unfortunately. They aren't much useful, when talk about military. We don't have knightly traditions in our House either, but we will do. Ser Walton will take care of that, Ser"
Walton blinked to Tullison. Young knight liked to sometimes talk about himself in third person.

"
Then perhaps the good Ser Walton should consider leading by example?"
Theomore seems to almost enjoy talking about Walton as if he wasn't there. Though it actually did sound like a challenge.

"
Our pavillions are always open for Tullison, Ser. We have wine, food and ale, Ser. And iron, of course! I'm sure pair of tourney lances are there somewhere, too."

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
"How could I refuse such an invitation, ser" Theomore answers, rather pleased, he might even be able to knock some sense into a man that thought facing a mounted knight on his feet was an appealing strategy.
[Beat to after the joust is completed, and any injuries/wounds of Theomore's have healed up]
"I do hope you have not gotten cold feet, Ser Walton." Theomore had decided to go with his best armor, seeing that he did not risk the ransom he usually did in the joust, and against Walton, even sparring was bound to hurt. Hopefully he wasn't too beaten up afterwards to not enjoy food and wine. Though his skill with the lance might soften up his opponent just enough to make this a winnable fight.

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
Ser Walton, who was considered average rider at best, with smile lowered his visor. "After You, Ser". Dulver shortly saluted, then charged his opponent...

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
high in saddle +2: 9d6k4+4 27 Is 4 DoS vs 12, 36 damage, 25 after AR, TN 18 to stay in saddle, which Walton doesn't make and then he takes another 9 falling off, ending up prone and stuff. So either 4 injuries or a wound to cope with the first hit, and then either adding a wound to stay up after falling, or 9 damage. Assuming you want to take wounds in a sparring match, that is....
stay in saddle: 6d6k4-2 14 Stays in saddle, but taking 2 DoS worth of damage, should be 2x(8+STR) I believe?
(also forgot, AR 10, it's the AP that is reduced, oh well)

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
[will take wound for hit and fall will take few points from HP. No problem. Will take Fatigue, if attacked.]
Ser Walton hit pretty hard, but took even harder blow. Ser Theomore's lance hit heavily into center of shining full plate armor, and throwing him out of his saddle. Black as night destrier galloped forward without knight. Landing was the smooth part comparing to hit, thought young Dulver. In learned habit, Ser Walton- despite being on ground, reached for his longsword.

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
Theomore winces as Walton's lance connects cleanly, his horsemanship aside, only one man Theo had faced could deliver a more devastating blow, two perhaps, but the Aurochs seemed to have retired. It was painful, but he had endured worse, and his horsemanship held up to the challenge as it usually did. An observer might note the difference between the two, skill refined over the course of one and a half decade against brute inborn strength. But as Prince Daemon and many others had said, jousting was mostly horsemanship.
And for that Walton paid the price. In the melee, he would be declared defeated, most would have needed a gurney to get off the field after a hit like that. Some unlucky few, Theomore recalls, would never again be able to walk, others had been even less fortunate.
"Perhaps we should call it a draw, Ser Walton?" He offers, though his hand does find it's way to the shaft of his cavalry spear in case his opponent wasn't finished. "It would seem unwise for either of us to continue, I think." At least maester Haelis would take some serious issue if they did.

Re: Watching young men clobber each other
After short consideration, Walton nodded and slowly stood up. Young Dulver hid his sword to scabbard and took off his helmet, revealing smiling face. "It's true what they say about You, Ser. I've never met more skilled jouster than Yourself, Ser. When future will bring us together again, I will insist to meet You on foot, Ser. There is not many men, who can match me there. But that was valuable lesson I must thank You for, as I always repeat: we, highlanders, have great armors, weapons and horses. Now we only need great riders to equip with that. But that may take a while." Walton was pretty sure that if they would continue, advantage would be on his side from now. But friendly sparring is not that friendly, when both men ends hardly beaten up. Knowing that and seeing Tullison's skills, his young pride was without harm today.
Walton was giving most of his attention now to his horse- huge, proud, powerful black destrier. Animal circled back to his owner after realizing that rider is not anymore in saddle, and Walton was patting it's head whispering fondly.
After short while Walton turned back to Tullison. When he was checking range of movement, painful grim appeared on his face. "I'm afraid You opened my not that old wound, Ser." Despite of that, Walton's face was joyful. "Let me invite You to our pavillions. We can share story or two to Arbor red, while Maester will give a look to my shoulder." Walton bowed slightly, but with courtesy and respect.

"That sounds much more agreeable than continued fighting, ser." Theomore wasn't exactly looking forward to the prospect of continuing that fight, good sport or no.
