Of Talk And Tourneys
Luecian approached the Marsten Pavilon, announcing himself to any present guards or House retainers. The tourney was just beginning and the expected excitement filled the air, Excitement tinged with oppurtunity. He was here to ask Lord Marsten and Ser Kevan if they would join him on the hunt later in the tourney, a small show of unity with men he both liked and respected. "Hallo good man, would Lord Marsten or Ser Kevan be Lyras be about? Me thanks if ya could pass along word that Luecian Longbow would appreciate a moment and a few words."
He took a combortable position to wait for his noble friends, hopeful they have the time to spare at the tourney's start.
(Traveling for work this week but should be able to post fairly regularly via phone. Slotted it at the tourney start to skip discussions on event results)

Re: Of Talk And Tourneys
The famous bowman was will known and respected by house Marsten. His heroic protection of their Lady on a Riverlands hunt saw to that. He was treated thoughtfully and a bit above his station as the men lead him a to large pavilion.
Lord Marsten himself came out to greet Luecian and lead him inside. He gave the young scout a firm shake and warm smile, happy to have a pleasant distraction. "Luecian, hello. Come. Come in." He holds the tent flap open.
Inside the enormous tent, a large table and chairs are set. Piles of papers and books litter one end. A lone cup and burnt down candle attend them. The surrounding clutter of the one large room look much as it would in any noble's castle council room.
"Take a chair. They have sent for Kevan. Wine, ale, water?" Ben moves to a side table. "Or rum?" With a playful grin he unstoppers a dark clay bottle.

Kevan entered the pavillon a few moments later. A wide grin on his face. "Luecian! Good to see you!", whenever he met the famous bowman, he was reminded of their daring mission through the caves at battle valley. Nevertheless, he looked forward to these opportunities as he liked the man and he always had a good story to share. Likely one were he played the hero. "Oh we are drinking rum. Excellent"

Luecian followed along conversing in passing with his escorts until Lord Marsten appeared. He dutifully followed him into the tent taking in the scene of stacked books and letters. He takes a seat and smiles as the offer for ale, and wine is made and grins even larger as Rum is mentioned.
"Much appreciated for sparing a few moments for meself M'lord. Be knowin yer time is surely scarce. Rum eh, ye be the spirit of nobility to share yer rum with the likes of meself." The man must have to drink all day to put up with readin such a number of books and letters.
As the knight joined the fray, Luecian returned his greeting fondly "Glad to be seeing yerself as well Ser Kevan and aye Lord Marsten do be ready to share some rum around." These are good men, knight and lord both and more handy to have on yer side in a scrap as meself can attest.
"Hoping all be well at HartsHorn these days? What troubles have yerselfs been out finding without me?"

"Anything that pulls me away from those damned ledgers is a blessing. And my load is only a third that of my Lady wife and our poor steward Gareth." Ben clanks a third cup down onto the table as he pulls the cork free with his teeth. He greets Kevan with a warm smile from around the cork clenched in his teeth, as he pours freely.

"This is where I am happy to be only a knight rather than a lord", Kevan remarks with a smile, although he realizes with regret that his own share of bookish work has increased as well in recent months.
"Well you have been in Dorne as well, although with more success than I myself, I believe. Other than that it has been a couple of Tourneys and other social events, mostly in the Crownlands. How about yourself Luecian? Any maidens you saved or other heorics to tell us about?" Grinning he added: "Or is it the company of Marsten folks that is required for any such dangerous missions?"

"Aye Dorne was a bit of nasty fighting for those not fighting near a Dragon it seems. We made it out though so we had a bit of luck with us eh."
"Managed to see much of the Westerlands with Ser Tymon Lannister once we made it home. Even managed a good boar hunt with Lord Reyne on his lands near Castamere. While cities be not my day to day liking ... A night enjoyed in Lannisport or Kings Landing with a bit of coin be a wonderous thing."
"More patrolling for bandits have fallen to meself as of late as the fools get more desperate and bold but most likes me favorite moment was tracking and capturing a live Great Stag for Lord Bracken's hunt. Truth be told was going for its mate but at the end of the day a Great deer be a great deer. Glorious beast in truth, larger and more clever than the normal breed and the men be having antlers to be proud of... Though sadly me own catch had none."
With a shrug of his shoulders and a smile he added a few more words in jest.
"Mayhaps the Marsens be the one getting me in such tight spots but eh mayhaps that be why I like ya. If ya be needed a refresher I can remind ya of the time I wrestled a shadowcat while taking a piss good Ser."

"Glad I left the Dornish to Kevan. I'm not one for dragons. Even when they are on our side. You can keep King Landing as well. I would not mind seeing Lannisport though. We have plenty of tight spots and they seem to get smaller with each passing moon." Ben rolls his eyes.

Re: Of Talk And Tourneys
"Ah the Westerlands...", Kevan appeared to sink into thoughts, but recovered quickly: "I havent been there since the... since becoming knighted. Have you had the chance to visit Casterly Rock as well?"
His smile reappeared again as the hunter brought up the old tale, by now he reckoned half the realm had heard that story from Luecian's mouth.
"Well you have another chance at a greater prey here on Coldbrooks lands during the hunt and the archery contest should provide some coin to a man that skilled as well, dont you think?"

Re: Of Talk And Tourneys
The huntsman looks a bit sheepish as he responds to the knight's query.
"Me eyes only saw it from afar, Ser Tymon guested briefly with his family but ya see it had been a long night before.... so he left me to be explorin the city a bit more."
"Aye the prizes be well pursed, so hopin to leave with more coin than I be havin now. That be the other part of me visit, other than sharing good drink and words with ya. Was hopin you two fine and noble fellows would do me an honor and join me in the tourney's hunt? With a bit of luck to join our skill, should be glory all around to be sharing. I recall yerself as fair huntsman Ser and no doubtin Lord Marsten be deadly with a boar spear."

Re: Of Talk And Tourneys
Ben seems surprised. He was definitely not known for his hunting skills. The Lady of Hartshorn and her Lord husband did hunt together when time allowed. Since the birth of their first born it has been rare. Something he missed dearly. He had taught her to dress her first kill.
"I would be honored. It has been sometime for me, but I will do what I can to aid the distinguished Luecian Longbow."
