The Two Tourneys *Replies needed by 29/10/16*

Hello all! I hope you're well.

It is my understanding that the two pending offseason 2 tourneys;


1. Need to be done if we want to move forward.
2. Might be a way we can take some pressure off Reader.
3. Are waiting on relatively simple things.

I believe Davain &
Baelon are waiting on a list of attendees, so please help me compile these by posting here;


1. If you are attending (I also want to hear from those who are opting out of either or both, to eliminate ambiguity).
2. Which of the two you want to attend (both is also a valid answer).
3. Which events (if any) you are entering. If you're not participating in the official tourney events, just write 'general attendance'.
4. Please do the same for any cohorts you have.

Your response is needed by October 29th. Anyone who hasn't posted in that time will not be included in the lists.

The events available for each tourney are;


1. Jousting
2. Melée (Bartheld only)

The second component of getting these moving is setting prizes, mechanical rules, and setting up the joust lists &
melée teams. Once we have those, threads can be made and posting commenced. I believe Reader gave Davain &
Baelon permission to do all this, but I'm willing to help if help is needed.

So, please post here about your plans for the Bartheld and/or Drakeson tourneys. I think that the more stuff we can resolve (and the quicker we do that), the more likely Reader will feel able to return and work on new stuff.

I think Drakeson is joust only?

Sort of leaning towards Theo skipping the Drakeson tourney, but still somewhat on the fence on that one.

He'll be jousting in Davain's Tourney, but no melee.

I don't know if Baelon has an NPC participant list, Davain doesn't as I understand. I can always make a crack at cooking one together based upon our two previous tourneys.

Drakeson tourney is only a joust, but it's gonna be huge. Prizes have been announced in an OOC thread in each tourney's subforum, but mechanical rules have not, as far as I'm aware.

Semifinalists: I'm not sure what the rule is regarding placing in the semifinals after being defeated. If there were to be only one semifinalist who could place, defeated contenders could joust each other in a loser bracket to determine a victor between them to take 3rd place. But I think that would be a custom rule.

How long would you folks say is appropriate to wait for responses before moving forward? I was thinking no less than a week, but no more than two.

I think there's a chance someone important related to Baelon might attend the Drakeson tourney.

We could say two weeks, which would set the due date at a couple of days before Halloween, and that's the furthest I would go. Enough fighters have not been on for almost a month, or at least haven't logged on.

Two weeks it is, then! I'll stick a note at the top to that effect. After 2 weeks, we move on with what we have.

If I am making entrant lists, I want Status(Tournament) tests from the hosts. If due to relationships or whatever formed through gameplay certain people should appear, throwing a hint is probably a good idea.

I am not entirely sure if reader used that on Ereth's tourney, but book says that the skill is used for attracting people to come, so sticking to it.

All knights and those declared capable by their sworn lord are eligible to participate in the joust, or of course at Baelon's discretion.

Lord Stark and Dragonstone people I'd leave to reader because those goes beyond my paygrade, a cautious guy might leave Ser Myles as well, the rest of the NPC's looks like people who would show up.

I was thinking more along the lines of 17 being 2 DoS on a TN9 test which basically modifies how many high profiled people shows up to the tourney because they feel like this is an event they should be seen at or compete at or whatever, specific invitation or no.
