Lyra Brewer, proprietor of The Painted World, took over what was previously the Green Door Inn when her husband perished in a fire. Lyra scandalised Riverton opinion when she converted what had previously been a quiet inn, struggling against the increasing popularity of The Drunken Hunstman, in to a brothel.

Rumour has it that Lyra's establishment enjoys the patronage of several local nobles, and it is well established fact that the local garrison was called out when the local Septon attempted to drive out The Painted World's sin with fire. Since this scuffle, The Painted World has settled in to an uneasy coexistence with the local population.
