Waiting outside, while one of the guardsman was informing Lady Isobel of his arrival, he heared screams and curses coming from the ironborn quarters.

What is going on there?

The day had already started with way too much excitement for his liking, so he had to postpone his meeting with his liege lady for a couple of hours. The guardsmen returns and motions him to enter the pavilion. Kevan does as told and finds Lady Isobel sitting at a small table.

"
My Lady, I am sorry for reporting just now to you. I arrived yesterday at the Tourney, but due to the quarrels during the night, I had to spend the morning calming our men."

Lady Isobel Marsten curtsies.

"
Word already reached me of your exemplary conduct in calming your men who so ably defended Marsten honour,"
she strikes a charming tone, pleased with Ser Kevan's conduct and showing in the pageant.

"
I do what I can, Mylady. This Tourney is an excellent opportunity to improve our situation and maybe gain future allies, but we have to ensure that internal scuffle does not destroy our image. Before I departed from Hartshorn, we had to fight off another raid from a group of clansmen, but we defeated them...for now..."

1DoS = 3 Influence - DR Sad

(This is my first standard intrigue, I choose "
convince"
to convince Lady Isobel that I am a loyal and capable vassel and (not that it ever comes to this...) could still switch to charm in a later round, correct?)

For once, Lady Isobel seems unable to find the right words, or perhaps they merely lack conviction?

"
I have the utmost confidence House Marsten's knights can keep us safe from the clansmen. Discretion with our own men and steel for the raiders, a fine combination."

[OOC: no problem, doing intrigues is how we learn. You're very much free to switch from charm/convince/seduce(!) during an intrigue]

"
Well spoken Ser, the fate of the whole House depends on the lady of the house, and we will have a new lady soon if the Seven are kind. Strong, wise leadership is a necessity if House Marsten and its loyal banners are to continue to prosper."

A pedant might query how much prospering House Marsten had done lately, but Lady Isobel's force of personality is convincing indeed.

Indeed my Lady and hopefully we can use the time here at Riverrun to further improve our standing."
he looks her straight in her eyes and adds: "
How can I as a loyal retainer help you to achieve this?"

[OOC: she's impressed by your actions, so that's agreeable to her. You're to monitor Lady Corrine's comings and goings for her - if Corrine does something Lady Isobel dislikes without you warning her, her disposition will fall a couple of steps. Is this suitable?]

[OOC: Well I don't have to like it after all :;
-): Given Kevan's loyalty to his Liege Lady, that is certainly acceptable. I guess I do not have to follow her all day, but rather go arround the tourney with open eyes and report if I see something?]

[OOC: Certainly don't want to tie you to her as that lowers the fun. Failing in her little scheme will be just as fun as succeeding. Please mark you disposition change on your character sheet if accepted and we can post the IC fallout - essentially she convinces Kevan to watch her wilful daughter. For the good of House Marsten of course...]

[OOC: OK, will do. However, my disposition toward her will not change? Only her's to me. Correct? Do you post the IC answer to Kevan's question first or should I assume that is done and narrate my response?]

[OOC: Just her disposition to you, combination of her being happy you're accepting the offer and sensible resolution of Krieger issue. Normally I'd play it out, but it's election night, so in the interest of speed, why not just post an appropriate response to the OOC offer? Sorry!]

Kevan carefully listens to Isobel's assignment. His hands folded in front of him.

Great, so I have to play the nurse to her daughter, this won't end well, one way or another...I sure hope she does nothing rash anytime soon.

"
I... I understand your concern Mylady, Lady Corrine is still young and she has a mind of her own, a combination which could lead her to make ... unfavorable decisions. I will make sure to look after her for the benefit of House Marsten. Who knows, maybe the time at the Tourney will also make her more aware of her role as the heir of this house"

He respectfully takes a bow before leaving the pavilion.
