It is both amusing and comforting that you are as undecided on that matter as I am,"
she laughs. "
I have given it some thought, but have not arrived at anything solid and final. There are too many names I like. I might need to meet them first, and decide whst name fits them."


She rolls onto her back, gazing up at the ceiling of the tent.

"
And that, well, that will be a nigh unbearable wait. I'm sure it sounds silly, but I want it all now."

Ben gently places his palm over her flat belly, making slow circles. His crooked grin matching the anticipation in his eyes as they stare on her abdomen. "
Waiting to meet them sounds like a great idea."


"
At the rate things have been going, the wait for a child will seem so very long."
He leans over her and plants warm kisses across her stomach.

She lets out a little giggle as he kisses her stomach, smiling affectionately as she strokes his hair.

"
It will, but I supppse we will have House matters to occupy us in the meantime. And, well, with the way things have been the past three days, our future little Marsten may have a head start."


She sighs wistfully.

"
Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a baby inside me right now. That's why I want this public wedding to happen as soon as possible. A couple of weeks is easy to conceal. A couple of months is not."

He turned to her so she could see how pleased he was by her words. At the mention of a possible early start he grins, nodding his head, before placing his ear to her stomach.

"
Just to remind you I have twin brothers."
He laughs, then quiets as if listening.

"
I do not think you could fit two in this tiny belly. Perhaps I should fix you something to eat."
He rises to sit cross-legged in the bed, a hand still on her stomach. His expression is only half-jesting, as he looks to the food.

He sighs as the rest of her words sink in. A sadness blanketing his demeanor. "
Should we stop until the official wedding? My riding off to fight was also not wise if you... we are..."
He looks torn between the joy of a new family and fear of his missteps.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

She laughs at him listening to her belly;


"
Silly man. Even if there is something there, you won't be able to hear it,"
she giggles, propping herself up on her elbow and looking up at him as he sits up next to her.

When she sees his face tighten with concern, she strokes his thigh slowly.

"
I once heard Ser Markus say that, when a man is in love, it makes him more cautious in battle. Was that true for you when you fought Lionel Darry and his men this morning?"

[Benedict Marsten]

He smiles, reddened in embarrassment. This was an area he had very little knowledge in. "
Oh! I Guess, I will need some hand holding in this endeavor."


He ponders on her words. "
I can't say. We were attacked unexpectedly. I may not have been overly cautious but neither was I reckless. I can tell you returning to you was my fore most thought."


Then the color quickly returns to his face, as the blood has made it to other places do to her attentive hand on his thigh.

"
Well, avoid recklessness, and all will be well. That includes the melée,"
Corrine replies gently. "
We can stop if it would make you more comfortable, but we can't really know at this point if anything... has happened. Holding off could be redundant, but we wouldn't know for a little while yet."

[Benedict Marsten]

"
I will definitely be on guard in the melee. And doubly so now, at just a hope and wish."
His hand rubs in small circles around her stomach.

He laughs quietly. "
You would have to tell me no yourself and failing that we would have to avoid each other to stop. So the power to abstain lay with you Lady Marsten."
He gives her a quick wink and playful grin.

She laughs, and rolls onto her front, propped up on her elbows, and grins coquettishly at him.

"
I'm afraid I think I'll find it very difficult to say no to you, or to stay away,"
she purrs.

[Benedict Marsten]

His eyes open wide as they take in the new sight before him. They explore from shoulder to toes. His mouth hanging agape as he inhales sharply.

"
Lady Marsten...it will be impossible at this rate."
He timidly traces his fingers down her spine towards her backside.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

"
Do you think we have time to go again?"
she asks, thoughtfully, though she subtly lifts her hips as his hand slides over her bottom. "
We shouldn't be late for our engagement. Even if it is tempting, and it is only a minor social call, it is not a habit we should allow ourselves to fall into."

[Benedict Marsten]

Damn it. She is so soft and tempting.

"
You make it very very hard to say no. And the lunch appointment makes it hard to say yes."
His face reflects his conflicted mind. His hand though had made its decision. It squeezed and massaged passionately.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

"
Well, I'm sure we can make it quick,"
she offers with a lustful smile, getting up onto her hands and knees, letting him caress her supple behind. "
And you can blame me if we are late."

Eventually, they run out of time to lie abed, and so get dressed, and walk, hand in hand, to their lunch engagement with Athelstan &
Elize.
