"
Of course! Good evening, Luecian. It was a pleasure to meet you."
With a sincere smile and short bow Ben excuses himself and returns to his table.

Who's that fella?"
Dunstan asks Ben.

"
A bowman from house Dulver. Luecian is his name. Made it to the 4th round I believe in the archery contest."
Ben looks over his shoulder at the departing man. Then he returns his gaze to Dunstan, his lips pinched and head bobbing in approval. "
Seems like a decent fella. Had a wise grandfather for sure."

"
Oh, Lord Marsten. You should know better than to mingle among the peasant rabble. They say lowborn carry a variety of diseases"
Dunstan jests, and bursts out laughing.

Ben laughs. "
I believe that man, thought all nobles truly feel that way. He has obviously never met a Tullison or Blackthorne."

That's a surprising thing to hear from you, of all people,"
Corrine interjects, not laughing.

Loreia sips at her drink most inconspicuously with a glint in her oblique expression.Dunstan Tullison wrote:"

Why? It's true, after all,"
she chimes acidly. "
We're a sickly bunch."
"
One wayward cough, and... I'd recommend seein' a maester, Ben."
Her eyes glue to Dunstan right after she speaks his name. "
By the time you notice changes it may be too late, though they're as like to wait an' see what you got, just to poke at you with a stick."

Corrine looks confusedly at Loreia;
"
Are you being sarcastic?"

"
...Half an' half."
Loreia's acidic disposition runs off, and she tears her gaze away from Dunstan to grin wickedly at Ben's betrothed. "
Uh-oh, Corrine. Didn't have a sip of the bowman's beer, did ya? He does look a little on the pale side..."
She then folds and unfolds her fingers separately, like spider legs, playing the leper and grabbing at thin air. "
And why do you think I wear gloves all the ti--"
She cuts herself off to have a fake coughing fit, covering her mouth dramatically.

Corrine can only watch in befuddlement, her attempt to challenge Dunstan utterly lost.

I should hope so,"
Corrine replies, her tone lightening, but her eyes still wary. "
We rely on our smallfolk for a great many things. They deserve our respect."

"
In Dunstan defense his house has some of the closest ties with its smallfolk I have every seen in my travels."
Ben looks to Dunstan with a sympathetic look. Maybe it was from his time at Jostens Rock or years with Dunstan, but Ben knew Dunstan could only be joking. He had not thought others may take him literally.

"
I don't doubt it. Dunstan clearly bears much love for smallfolk. His efforts to rescue that poor girl, Marei, make it evident,"
Corrine replies, a little dryly.
Calling them diseased while you are shagging one just looks incredibly gauche. Learn some tact.

"
They are same as us. We only have the biggest home in the area, and most gold to arm and feed the soldiers. So we provide protection - they work the land and pay for protection. Neither could survive without one another."
Dunstan is surprised his little jest was taken seriously by some.
"
What I said is evidently untrue - I was mocking the highborns who forger whom are they supposed to serve, that is all."

Right. I see. Sorry, Dunstan. I think I'm just a bit tired. I didn't mean to have a go at you like that,"
Corrine replies, rubbing her forehead a little, mentally counting her drinks and gauging her physical state.

When the awkward moment rears its deathly visage, Loreia forces an awkward cough. This is why I don't make jokes. Often.
Nice going, Loreia, you've only gone and killed the mood. After the drawn-out apology, Loreia raises her cup. "
How 'bout another drink? To the high an' low, servin' each other."

Corrine gives Loreia a grateful smile.
Thank the heavens you're here.
"
I will drink to that,"
she agrees, raising her cup, hoping to put the misunderstanding in the past as quickly as possible.

"
No trouble! I will have to remember not to make bad jokes!"
he says and laughs.
"
And certainly, to the high and low!"
he says and raises his cup.
