Raventree Hall - description Empty Raventree Hall - description

Post by Reader Sat Oct 17, 2015 11:22 am

Raventree Hall is an unusual castle, its high outer stonewalls covered in moss and standing in marked contrast to the dark wooden inner keep. Inside, it is richly decorated with wool tapestries depicting triumphs and tragedies in House Blackwood’s long struggle against House Bracken.
The grounds feature one of the largest godswoods South of the Neck, with the burned, blackened weirwood that was defiled by House Bracken lying in silent reproach at the centre.
The castle is lent a sinister aspect the by flight of Ravens that return to seek shelter here each evening. It is not hard to find a House Bracken sworn sword who will claim that the ravens return each night to whisper secrets they have learned from spying on House Blackwood’s foes, but if so, the ravens returned too late to warn the Lord Blackwood of the assassins that brought his doom to Raventree hall.

Raventree Hall - description Empty Re: Raventree Hall - description

Having visited House Bracken already in the morning, Kevan made sure to travel to Raventree Hall as well on the first day. He took his time to walk through every part of the castle starting at the stonehalls, passing through the Godswood his wife talked so much about and finally ended in the wooden inner keep. He examined the window, which was the alleged entrypoint for the assassins and diligently analyzed the location of the murder.
It^s the tiny details that paint a picture, I just have to recognize them...

Having done that, he started talking to the various men and women working in the castle, hand maidens, guards, pages, whoever was present during the time of the murder. An elderly small knight, Ser Eustace Buckwell was among them. The sellsword had a few details to add, though he was not very talkative at first. It took Kevan quite some time and all his skill to persuade the man to give him some insights.

Eventually, after a couple of hours an exhausted Marsten knight left Raventree Hall again...
The things I do for love...

Raventree Hall - description Empty Re: Raventree Hall - description

Ser Garred Mountfort and Ser Walton Dulver decided that Raventree Hall is good place to start with the case King has ordered to take care of. Arrived in early morning, wanted to be very first at assassination scene- they partially made it happen, as already there were some people around. Anyway, not discouraged, they started from watching every part of the castle, discussing how they would plan and perform assassination like this. When they have already seen what they wanted, they started to question people, backed by what they saw during their investigation.

Raventree Hall - description Empty Re: Raventree Hall - description

Post by Samurel Manderly Tue Nov 10, 2015 3:21 am

News reached Samurel at a midpoint of his investigations in other matters, word that the House would attend to these matters, Samurel saw in it duty to come to this place of conflict himself.

Everything was always too loud, too many people, too many eyes and ears, nothing and no one could be trusted in this matter. who had see or heard what would remain among those who had seen or heard them. Samurel knew this.

He waited, waited for the Lords and Ladies to have their chance at spotting what they would, he was patient, and he was quiet, no need to let anyone know he was there to begin with : 5d6k4 20

As he waited and sneaked through Raventree, Samurel took note of the details on the door ways into and out of each room, each exit, each window, looking for the tell tale signs of lock picks and thieve's tools. : 4d6k4 12

He placed emphasis on the rooms of the workers, the guard's rooms, the kitchen, the walkways and halls where the workers of the Hall Talked, and gossiped, and spoke, listening closely to what they had to say. : 4d6k4 10

When he had heard enough, he isolated the one who seemed to know the most, and questioned them. placing their personal well being and that of their close family into the path of destruction should they not take full note and full honesty in everything they know. Nothing left unturned, nothing left to chance.
