"So I must admit I don't know a great deal about being a squire or knights in general but most of the squires I have seen were pretty young compared to you is there some task you must complete before you get knighted?

Aerion can't help but bristle a bit at that.

It is usual for lord's heirs to spend little time squiring, it's true, and to take the oils and earn their spurs as a matter of course, but for them it may just be a part of growing up, an expectation due them by tradition. Some men choose to squire their whole lives, though. Leal service is rewarded with steady employment, a great many men are content with such."
Not me. I'll get my spurs soon. 'Any day now,' he always says.

"I see thank you for this insight, its quite interesting. I can imagine its like most things those born into the easy life stay in it while those at the bottom have to fight for it. What about squires drinking, anything against that? I know I plan on heading to some tavern once this guys dropped off if you care to join."

He warms, just a bit. He hadn't met many Ironborn, but surely being invited to drink was something like a sign of affection among those rough men.
