The smack makes her squeak, and she returns it.

"I think that sounds fun. I shall look forward to it. And it is quality, not quantity with this costume. It's finest Myrish silk. And the jewellery is solid gold. I'm not sure where your money went thought. Unless the cloak came from a very special bear indeed. A stiff wind would have revealed to everyone what it is that endears you to me," she teased.

Though painless her return strike makes him leap in shock, his eyes wide.

"Solid gold, gods." Woman. "The cloak only cost a small stag and three good Spears. Oh and Ander's fingers. I told him it was still alive. As for the wind... I could feel it quite clearly. Especially when my banner was raised. The real cost was covering a certain merry bands art work." He clutches her finger and uses it to trace one of the raised scars, a star, on his left shoulder. "It was paramount they were hidden. Since everyone at our bedding got to see them." Reclining back into the fur he smiles up at her reminiscing on what seemed like ages ago.

"They did a very good job with the make-up. I only really knew you by touch."

Propping herself up on one elbow, she traced the raised lines across his chest.

"I suppose I can have the gold melted down and repurposed. Or sell it. Perhaps keep one of the bracelets to pass on to Beth when she's older. And give some money to Anders, for his loss."

"A touch I appreciate ever so much." He watches her finger. Its gentle caress erasing the pain of each line and drawing attention from other more jealous parts.

"Keep it. You may need it for that bet." One eye flashes closed in a wink. "Anders has been compensated. Though it was only two finger tips."

"Ah well, that's not quite as bad as I feared. I thought you meant he'd lost all of them on one hand. Thank you for taking care of it. I hate it when those who serve us suffer. I think I'll always be soft-hearted that way. And I would not be so foolish to bet this much against you. You always find a way to get the better of me."

He sits up to cradle her delicate chin. "My love, I hope you always stay so. I thank the gods that events have not changed you. You have those around you to play the pessimist. I pray your heart never feels darkness. Once there it may never be fully banished."

His demeanor quickly changes from concerned spouse to playful lover with the curl of his lips. "Your are wise to save your gold. If I had won it, I may have it made it into fetters fitting of a queen. Nothing says royalty like golden chains and shackles."

She knew he spoke truly of the permanent nature of such darkness. He had lived it to protect his sister.

"You, Ellie, and our children are bright lights in my heart. They banish the darkness with ease."

She hugged him, and his change to playfulness cheered her again.

"Are you saying you want to be the Princess' pet? Am I not tying you up luxuriously enough?" she teased, tickling him.

He hugged her back tightly. "The light of our family keeps mine confined to the deep places."

He laughs, as fights her prying fingers. Between laughing breaths he replies. "They are, for my queen. The queen of my heart. And your knots, My lady, are quite skillful and ... pleasant."

She laughed, and ceased her attack.

"Good answer, my love. I may not have gold chains to play with, but I reward loyalty in ways you like a lot," she purred, nibbling his warlobe.

"Speaking of royals and loyalty, I have been thinking about how we might elevate House Marsten further."

"I thought you may like that answer. Oh, I do like your rewards. I do." An uncontrollable shiver runs down him as her lips touch his ear.

"Your not thinking of making your own claim for the Iron Throne are you? Two queens is more than Westeros can handle already." He looks at her with lips pursed as if in deep concentration. "You would look adorable on the horrid thing though. Especially as you are now."

"And I'm sure you're picturing your own lap in between," she chuckled. "But no, the Iron Throne is far too precarious for my liking. I was thinking of sonething closer to home."

Ben looks at her with interest. "Are we to seek more lands from Lady Arryn?"

"We are on the verge of greater influence than House Marsten has ever had. I no longer want to just maintain what my father built. I want to expand it. We lost out on Market Town, but we can be powerful in other ways than having lots of land. I want to use my time in King's Landing to gain us more favour with the Princess, so that, when she sits the throne, our early and steadfast loyalty will be remembered. I like and respect Lady Arryn, so I do not wish to tread upon her toes, but I see no harm in ensuring our House performs at least as well as hers."

His face passes through a myriad array of expressions. Agreement. Displeasure. Reassurance. Surprise. Shock. This side of Corrine he had only seen occasionally. More so in private. As they were both more the caregiver, it was refreshing to see her looking to take something for herself. No for her family and it's future. This was not the place though. Despite the hopefully hidden identities, there were bound to be eager ears, waiting for the right words.

With a proud smile he replies. "Perhaps this is not the place to speak of something like this, love." His eyes pass over the room with suspicion.

She follows his gaze, and remembers that, while they may be enclosed by four walls, this was not home. There was no assurance of privacy. And this was exactly the sort of situation where loose tongues got caught out.

"Ah yes. You are right. Another time. So, are you ready to go again?"

His eyes widen at first. A cheshire grin grows upon his face. "Well, speaking of rising up." He gives a snort of laughter. Then puts on a serious face. "Have you ever know me to not be?"

"Well, there was the time I wore nothing but my shadowcat cloak to bed and we wore ourselves out so much we slept all day after," she giggled.

He shrugs, humbled by the memory. "Well, I do not count loss of consciousness as a failure to perform."

Pushing the ruffled Red Lady flat onto the furs, he sweeps into place on top of her. Arms bracing his weight on either side of her flowing red hair. The muscles draw tight and bulge at the numerous bands and clansmen ornaments. His thick lower appendages worm their way between her painted legs.
