Joust R3: Jon Templeton Vs. Rodrik Bigglestone

Ser Jon rode out onto the field on his courser Ghaston. He gently stroked the horse's mane as he awaited his opponent. "We've been through a lot ol' boy. Let's get through another." Jon smiled at his trusty companion. Looking up Jon saw Ser Rodrik make his way to the opposite end of the lane. Pity I face a fellow black. I'd rather defeat a potential enemy than ally. No matter, I'll buy him some drinks after the tourney. Jon saluted Ser Rodrik and took a lance.

At the signal Jon spurred Ghaston and charged down the lane.

Rodrik appraises Jon with scrutiny. Perhaps the Tullisons seek soft start with Lord Coldbrook by sending in their place men whom Lord Coldbrook's grudges is blind to? But Rodrik doesn't get paid to suppose the minds of nobles. They've made concessions, they could stand to put grudge aside to unite in support of the true heir to the throne. Thankfully Lord Tully hasn't had to intervene, yet.

He treats the first round as a test to gauge Ser Jon's tactics and ability, though not softer for it, or less grim.

Ser Jon and Ser Rodrik both scored hits but neither strike was effective. Though each lance exploded against the other's shield no real damage was done. Both knights stayed atop their horse and made it to the ends of the lane. Each picked up a lance and began the next charge. Wear him down, stay upright. Jon sighted in on the knight's shield as they came together again.
