Thanks for volunteering, Triston and Loreia.
Triston & Jon: sure you can do a 2v2, and it makes sense given your character's friendship.
though just remember that if you can gang up, so can they...
For the existing threads without volunteers I'll get a first round posted ASAP.

I wasn't even talking about necessarily 2v2, but that works. I was just saying we'd probably be together, etc.

I never encountered smashing rules. Standard object's HP is 12 and it's defence is character's CD, if I understood well?
Doesn't Malice need to roll his Agility to stand up as minor action? He wears heavy plate :-) or use greater action to automatically stand up.

@Triston (asked in the other thread)
These are secondary characters, so may take injuries & fatigue, but not wounds.
@Walton
That's more or less correct. The TN to hit is the higher of the weapon's difficulty or the character's Combat Defense, so in this case it was against your CD of 19.
Also, yes, Malice needs to have made an agility test vs TN 9 to stand as a lesser action. That's on me, I neglected to mention that to Triston.
For the sake of time: Agility(Acrobatics) to stand as Lesser Action: 4d6-3 14
I'll edit that into the thread, too.

I can run someone's opponent, if needed But not guy with whips- I don't feel enough mechanically comfortable with so exotic weapon and it's qualities.

Re: Perilous Pirates & Privateers [Stepstones, Phase 2]
Go ahead and run Moh for Loreia, he's a pretty straight forward combatant - charges, knockdowns, aim, and standard attacks, as appropriate. Mechanically the only thing is to remember his Shattering, which happens automatically on any hit of 2 or more DoS.

Re: Perilous Pirates & Privateers [Stepstones, Phase 2]
I step down from running Moh. I don't need someone to breathe down my neck and correct me- in that situation any of my input seems just pointless.

Re: Perilous Pirates & Privateers [Stepstones, Phase 2]
I apologize, I did not intend for it to come across that way. It really was a failing on my part in giving guidelines because I did not take Badger into consideration.
I understand how you feel, however, and respect your decision.

Would anyone else like to run Moh? So I can fight him and complete my participation in this event?

I have no idea how to approach my foe lol, been debating the best way, but it will all come down to orokos screwing me or not

Yeah, I'm not really surprised by how quick it was, but I was expecting him to get another solid hit on you.Loreia wrote:Thanks! Well, it was over sooner than either of us expected...

thanks for volunteering for Alequo. I'll get some tactics notes to you shortly.
Generally speaking it is best to emphasize your strengths while capitalizing on your opponents weaknesses.Ereth Redwain wrote:I have no idea how to approach my foe lol, been debating the best way, but it will all come down to orokos screwing me or not
I've not reviewed your character sheet to determine your strengths, but your opponent has at least two weaknesses:
- Only an 8 CD and 3 Endurance, he won't last long under a strong offense.
- No bonus dice on his attack means inconsistent attacks. Staying on the defensive could shift the odds of taking damage down significantly.
There may be other more unusual tactics that would be effective as well (possibly much more effective even), but those are the two that come to mind immediately. What strategy is best for you is of course your call.
Of course, talk about averages only takes you to the point of rolling dice. Certainly Orokos could screw you, but it could also give you a ridiculously easy win. That's the nature of dice.

Well I took a risk and orokos seems to have blessed my dice this time.

A good plan with knockout - that's another way that low endurance is a weakness. Unfortunately as pointed out, knockout requires the foe to be unaware - a distracted foe is still aware of you, though not paying as much attention as they should.
Knockout would require special circumstances - notably surprise.

That is fine, I'll take the -3 CD and just hack and slash.

And quite a successful hack and slash at that - you're about halfway to victory already.

We're stuck until participants get their own threads started, as requested.
I can control Baqq vs Triston if someone else will be Serala vs Jon.

Loreia volunteered to run Baqq, but as you are doing a joint combat it would probably be easier/faster if both Baqq and Serala are run by the same person.
Loreia, do you want to take both? If not I can run them.
