Yoren says before asking a man standing idly around: "
would you bring me a blanket to cover him in?"

Amidst the carnage, Roddric's body is protected by his loyal companions, amid great cries and accusations. Any attempt to strip him of his possessions will need to go through them.

They're as surprised as anyone to find themselves forming a ring around Yoren, of all people. At his request one of the procures a blanket to cover the treacherously slain would be heir to House Longshore. Perhaps Athelstan's blow is a kindness to the house's future fortunes?

And they spoke true, Roddric, ever the enthusiastic young warrior had sought merely to test himself.

In time to come, dark whispers will circulate that Yoren set this up, practising against Athelstan to lure his brother here and secure the Longshore succession.

Worse, and with more justification, will be said of Athelstan....

Athelstan stays in the camp looking at all the commotion knowing full well what he unleashed and not caring one bit of it.

I'll be having my injury tended if someone wishes to speak to me."

[ooc]Yeah, like 10 dmg is not enough to feel deadly. This is GoT I though he would have at least done some permanent damage if he won to secure I really wasn't getting a chance to be heir[/ooc]

Yoren shouts out. When things quiet a little he continues: "
MY FATHER IS THE ONLY ONE TO JUDGE ATHELSTAN. ALL PRESENT WILL BEAR WITNESS, BUT NO ONE WILL HARM HIM UNTIL THEN!"


he pauses for a moment: "
Right now the burial of Roddric is the most important. Skael, Lory and Svein will guard Athelstan. He will not escape, he will stand trial, but I will not allow you to kill him either!"
Yoren adds before covering his brother.

[Athelstan]

Escape? Athelstan laughs whole heatedly "
No man will bar my passage, or you will die, I will be judged by Lord Leifnarr when he comes or we return"
looking at Yoren "
I will proceed with the tourney schedules, and you are not the only one with men that will follow him, I bear you no ill will as we practiced and teach you how to improve"
pointing at Roddric "
What he was doing was not practice, but you have never been hit hard enough to leave an injury as this"
showing the place Roddric hit him "
Aye! The majority of you would have at least died or be unconscious from such blow"
as he points at all of them "
So 'my lord' if you excuse me I'll be tending to my wounds with my own men, but I will do you a favor and take those three to 'escort me' to give you peace of mind"
an with a fierce look in his eyes "
Someone has something to do, I'll give you a fair duel and bury you in dry land for your insolence!"

[Yoren longshore]

Yoren shakes his head: "
Leifnarr has no right to judge you, only Ferris has that right. If he attempts that would be considered treason. You may proceed through this tourney as usual, but although I trust you, you will have to keep some guards with you."

There is a firmness to Yorens voice. He then adds: "
let me look at your flank, I may stop the bleeding till it may be treated properly."

[Athelstan]

Just take me to Lord Tully its his lands and his will if you want to be so technical"
letting Yoren help "
I'll stake my luck with my axe and fight whoever it is, and die an ironborn like I've said before."
shrugging his shoulders "
I will continue the tourney, as oddly enough I am the jouster for House Longshore, and you best stay away from me lest they say you paid me to do it."
pushing Yoren away.

[Yoren longshore]

Yoten cocks his head: "
we may head to Gorman, yes. He will most likely tell us to make this Ferris judgement, as it is Ferris son, but if you could make an appointment with Gorman, I would like to speak for you, as I've met him and as I know the law."

Yoren shrugs: "
but it is your choice wether or not you will want my assistance "
Yoren then turn and walks with the men down to the river, helping to carry what remains of his brother.

[Athelstan]

"
I'll take it if you give it, make the appointment and sink his remains in the river pointing towards the sea so he may find his way. Let us do all this at the end of the tournament or after the jousting at least"

[Yoren longshore]

Yoren looks at Athelstan: "
We may wait with the body till after the tournament, but I would advice you to appoint an audience with Gorman this evening, if we wait he might take it as a slight."
Yoren continues to carry the body shouting to everyone: "
we will send him back to Ferris, but don't worry, the burial will not be until after our return. Anyone who wishes to follow him back to his father may do so, the delegation protecting his body will be led by Victor and all men who wish to join him."

Yoren then makes some more practical decisions before telling Athelstan: "
tell me when the meeting is set."
He then returns to his tent looking bone weary.
