"
Discipline is not a problem for ironborn, we are train to be soldier at the early age of seven or eight I just hope his ability to command them is good enough, that is why I told him to take our uncle Leifnarr since the men respect or fear him more than the enemies they face"
giggling "
Well I'm sure you will find more than one thing to give your beloved mum something to grow more wrinkles about I am sure"

"
It is more their social discipline that concerns me, Corrine explained. "
I know they are fierce fighters, but I don't want them raiding me or my neighbours on the way."
She shrugs;
"
And my mother aged about ten years when I told her I wanted to marry Ben. I live in hope that I might do something right in her eyes someday."

"
I can't say how mothers are, I'll let you know if I find mine, since I don't even remember her, so be grateful for at least having someone that cares for you, even if it borders in the bad side of caring. I can't blame her, she would have died if it was someone else"
laughing out loud "
Seriously stop worrying about her thoughts and just make your own choices, she will tho make your life a living hell more than likely to make you pay for it, she looks that kind of mother in-law"
Athelstan can't help but shudder at the thought of it. "
Poor Ser Benedict I wish him well and good luck with that, there is no armor, sword or shield that can stop those blows"

I will protect him as best I can. And while he is not whom my mother would have chosen for me, he is, objectively, not a bad choice, so there is little she can legitimately complain about, not that it will stop her,"
Corrine chuckles dryly. "
But, he makes me happy, and he's a good man, and I believe that matters most."
She was being politely reserved and congenial, but there is a sparkle to her eyes and a glow to her cheeks that bely that she is smitten with her betrothed.

"
Aye, I can see you getting puppy eyes all over at the mention of his name, but a soured mother scorn is more frightening than an army, for that's an enemy inside your walls you can't kill like an enemy soldier, but it can kill you slowly, maybe someday when this is all over, I'll visit, will you need help carrying that ungodly amount of clothes?"

"
I know all too well how intimidating my mother is, Athelstan,"
she replied matter-of-factly. "
But I'm a woman grown, and will soon take my official place as head of my House. She knows that. It is my duty and my birthright, so I am not afraid to take it anymore. But I do know the importance of trying to avoid acrimony wherever possible."
She waved off his offer;
"
Thank you, but they have porters for that. You can do it too, so you are free to go to other shops. Just ask them to have your purchases sent to your pavilion."

"
Porters... yes.."
a bit lost "
Thanks for everything will continue shopping and have everything sent to, now I need to find some better equipment and a better horse, then I already have if I want to stay competitive, wish you luck in your endeavors Corrine, we will see each other when time permits, it's not the best of options to be seen with me in this places, I don't want to cause you trouble"
Athelstan pays for his new outfits and mask and had a porter send his things to the Longshore pavilion.
"
Have fun at the ball, I'll see you there"
Athelstan waves her good bye
[/scene] - Unless Corrine want's to discuss something more.

"
Take care, Athelstan,"
Corrine nods, waving him off congenially.
