[OOC: this doesn't use a timeslot]

The sentences run on, as if the author's mind were working ahead of her thoughts.

Ser Jon Cobb,

I have enjoyed our strolls together, and feel bereft that the festivities I had looked forward to tonight will suddenly instead keep us from the walk I feel in need of.

A lady must do what she must for her house, but I fear my foolish daughter has damaged all I have worked for, all I have done to secure her place.

It will lend me strength to at least hear your voice at the Bartheld Ball, even if I cannot make time for reassuring words or look upon your kind face.

As with your Lord Brom, we relics of history must stick together,

Yours Faithfull,
Lady Isobel Marsten

Jon feels a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as the page reads Isobel's letter to him. She does want to see more of me! And the ball may provide the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, he thinks, remembering his conversation with Corinne Marsten. In fact, now might be the perfect time for a thoughtful gift...

"
Boy! Get some paper and a quill, and take this down."

Dearest Lady Isobel,

It warms my heart to hear that you have enjoyed our strolls as much as I have, and it grieves me to hear of your distress. Fortunately, I can think of no place better than House Bartheld's masquerade to cast off one's burdens for a night, and to seek solace in joy. All that is required is the will to do so.

However, if the weight of your burden is such that it cannot be set aside, even for a single evening, then you should know that even at a ball, you may find quietude and a sympathetic ear. All you need do is ask.

In the meantime, I hope you will accept a small gift as a token of my appreciation for your sage advice and efforts on behalf of our fellow relic.

Deepest regards,
Jon Cobb

Sealing the letter, Jon adds it to the package containing the gift he had bought at the market this very morning - a fine shawl of Myrish lace, woven from silk, gold and silver thread. Light enough to be worn indoors, but just thick enough to provide a little extra warmth on say...a morning stroll.

"
Now boy, get these to Lady Isobel post haste!"

Jon Cobb
