[Day 4: Round 2] Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Karl Fossoway
Emboldened by his success in the first round and fortified by strong cider during the wait for the second round to begin, Jon returns to the lists to face his new foe. Ser Karl Fossoway, eh? What was it they said about his preferred style at the Frey's last tourney?
Maneuver: Defensive +2
Passive Ride: 13+2 = 15
Health: 11
AR: 8
: 5d6 21 to remember something about Ser Karl's reputation as a jouster
Effect: Ah yes, now I remember - aggressive sort and a good rider. Likes to ride high in the saddle. Probably going to push hard to win early.

Re: [Day 4: Round 2] Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Karl Fossoway
Ser Karl Fossoway is not quite his father's match, but just falling short of Lord Fossoway makes him still an opponent to be reckoned with.
True to form, he follows the bold tactics that served him him well at House Frey's recent tourney. A typically chivalrous Reachman, he dips his head in honour of his famous opponent./
Passive Ride: 14
Health: 12
AR: 10
Action: : 9d6k4+2 24
Result: 2 DoS = 16 damage, TN 12 to remain mounted.

Re: [Day 4: Round 2] Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Karl Fossoway
Knowing that horsemanship is his weak point and expecting Ser Karl to ride high in the saddle, Jon elects to ride defensively again, hunkering down behind his shield and angling his body to deflect the force of Ser Karl's lance. Even so, he must fight to remain in the saddle when the young knight's lance strikes his shield like a hammer blow, leaving his left arm numb. His own strike is not much weaker than his opponent's, however, and Jon allows himself a grunt of satisfaction at such a clean hit.
Maneuver: Defensive +2
Passive Ride: 13+2 = 15
Health: 3/11
AR: 8
: 9d6k4-2 21
Result: Lance strikes Ser Karl for 6 damage (8 x 2 DoS = 16 - 10 = 6);
Animal Handling 12 to remain mounted.
: 4d6k3 12
Result: Jon stays in the saddle
: 5d6k3 6
Result: Regain 2 Health for 5/11 next pass

Re: [Day 4: Round 2] Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Karl Fossoway
"
Come on Ser Jon, you faced worse than this on the Stepstones!"
shouts Prince Daemon himself as Ser Jon bears down on Ser Karl. Whatever slight he feels Jon has done him is forgotten in the heat of battle, particularly against a Reachman.
Prince Daemon's support is well earned.
Both men strike fine blows, but only one of them masters his mount and remains seated.
Ser Karl is injured, but bears it well, shouting his congratulations to his foe.
[: 5d6k3-2 11, takes injuries to avoid the KO.
Ser Jon prevails against a superior, younger foe! Nothing like experience.]

Re: [Day 4: Round 2] Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Karl Fossoway
Jon raises his lance in salute - first to the Prince, then to his honorable foe - and, once more, feels the relief flooding through him at having survived the tilt. Then his thoughts turn to something altogether more pleasurable...ransom!
