Re: Character themesongs
Not bad, actually, but I would very much have liked to see a lot more of that side. It kinda gets buried under all the cuddling with boy scout, I am aware that this is how humans are genetically wired with their hormone cocktails and whatnot to be inseparable for the year it takes to produce a baby (so that daddy does stick around to take responsibility), so I can't really fault you for not playing Corrine realistically, it's just that I skim through all those posts, whereas I most certainly would not if you had embraced Merida rather than Ben.

Re: Character themesongs
There will be plenty more of her strength, it just requires adversity.
Ben &
I don't make our personal character development threads for you, and it fits both characters, so your enjoyment of them is not necessary. We like to have ordinary interactions to give more depth to our RP, and we like to highlight milestones in the characters' lives, especially the ones that people will likely refer to in their interactions with them, like their children, and their dealings with their peers (it would be strange if their life events were never brought up). Just because they have a loving relationship does not mean they ae weak or lack complexity. Ben has done some dark stuff, so he's no "
boy scout"
, and Corrine is capable of great harm, but just hasn't been pushed to it yet. Not everyone has to be a vicious schemer. RP is boring if it's all fighting and backstabbing.
Also, she had to marry someone. I'm not going to apologise for the choices made, because I believe them to be the right and fitting ones. If anything, that loving marriage that you find dull is a huge hook for Reader and the other players to tug on for drama.

Re: Character themesongs
Fair enough, but ordinary interactions fails to give much material to find theme songs.

And then "Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:If anything, that loving marriage that you find dull is a huge hook for Reader and the other players to tug on for drama.

Indeed. In story 2 I've already got some customised targeting of weaknesses (easier to do now I have all the sheets!).
Gloves coming off a little, hopefully without descending to killer narrator status.
There's no tragedy unless some of the IC bonds are strong.

I beg to differ, given that there are so many songs about relationships and family drama, which are both part of ordinary life. Besides, theme songs can be about personality or a person's beliefs/thoughts, not necessarily deeds. I think you are conflating what interests you personally with what has value.

I totally agree. Ben &
I know full well that the strength of our bond will likely be met with proportional tragedy.

While I don't care for most of FF13-2's music. I do like this:

I want Nathan have a chase scene/sword fight on the Blackwood/Bracken battlements to this music... in a thunderstorm.

Re: Character themesongs
Indeed, half the point of being a magnificent bastard is being IC not knowing you are, although I'm glad several PCs and NPCs suspect him - it hasn't all been smooth!
With characters like this, too many people focus on the "
bastard"
and forget you need to keep the "
magnificent"
up to cover the bastardry.
Enjoying Theomore cultivating some of the new PCs as sources.

Re: Character themesongs
I'd imagine that when and if we meet a black brother who is recruiting for the wall in the riverlands his theme song would be this, because well he has!

As for Samurel, I feel this would be appropriate, while not entirely appropriate, mostly.

Never much had a taste for Elvis, but that song does capture a lot of Theomore.

Nathan is pretty complex, but I think I finally found a themesong that fits perfectly.

I don't care if these cause eyerolls, I think they fit beautifully and it's ok to value romance in a narrative.

Perhaps he'll be singing Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood to Prince Daemon?

Not quite his style.
I kinda feel this one strikes a chord with Theo's state of mind right now:

Re: Character themesongs
That version seems to be missing a the critical last two verses from the original, which make it even better, I think. :;
):
Most relevant lines bolded.
There's a room where the light won't find you (prison cell for Theo?)
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do, I'll be right behind you
So glad we've almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Ev'rybody wants to rule the world
I can't stand this indecision
Married with a lack of vision (poor Floreta has no idea what she's getting into)
Everybody wants to rule the world
Say that you'll never, never, never, need it
One headline, why believe it? (sounds like the trial to me)
Everybody wants to rule the world

Re: Character themesongs
The first of those two is in there. But the Lorde version is far superior, especially for Theo.
A more metaphorical interpretation of the first bolded line would be more fitting to the present state of affairs.
Floreta however, will be happy (as long as Theo keeps returning home anyway).
