Corrine listens to the gossip with amusement, the Septon's conversation with Ser Theomore becoming background noise.

She leans over to Nathanial and speaks quietly;

"
Nathan, about what you may have overheard earlier, when I thought only Ellie could hear me. Can I trust you to keep it to yourself?"

Nathan smirks softly. "
I understand why you ask, though. You have nothing to fear from me."

However, you should consider that a lesson. Never speak so casually in a public place about things you would not otherwise wish people to know. There are people who have sharper ears than mine and are not nearly so discrete. There are those who would harm you just for your position or as a political weapon, even if they bare you no ill-will personally."

Understood. I have previously been so used to speaking freely, nobody being terribly interested in what I have to say. Honesty comes more naturally to me. But one must adjust to one's new circumstances, and fast. Thank you, Nathan."

especially when you are lying... but words are weapons and should be treated with the same care you would wield a sword. If your words are not a weapon in your hands, they will be a weapon in someone elses."

I believe the bastard may have this - fit and rested Ser Alayne would have landed that blow."

He and much of the rest of the crowd is focused on the match between Baelon and The mystery knight who has already overcome two powerful warriors.

Still a bit bruised from his fight, Kevan joined the specators on the stands to watch the remainder of the melee after cooling of his sweating body with the help of a water bucket and exchanging his armour for a simple garb in the Lyras colours. He finds his Liege Lady in strange company, between a fat septon and a young smallfolk boy.

"
Seems like that mystery knight gives Ser Baelon a good fight. I already feared he will advance to the final without even having to show his merit, standing around and waiting for the others to beat each other up!"
he says with a slight grin. Sitting down next to the group.

He turns to Ellie "
that means she will get 80 silver stags if he wins, however if I win she will lose her twenty."
He gives Lady Corrine a wink "
But knowing of her betrothal I believe that this young Lady enjoys a good gamble"

I dont know about your finances good septon, but I am willing to do the same bet but I chose Ser Baelon. What do you think?"

And I suppose my concept of what is a normal amount to bet is rather skewed by my privileged upbringing. My apologies if I have made anyone uncomfortable."

My Lord I will take that bet. But that boy has hardly even a scratch on him AND just took down the man who killed Ser Jon and trounced Ser Florian. Nay that man will just be 1-1 odds. I think he has a good chance to take the tournament myself. He is a smart warrior, Barring any hijinks or alliances against him I think he is starting in the strongest position. So what say you? Your Twenty silvers that he wins vs my 20 silvers that he loses?"

Tis fine My Lady, You ment no offence, so none was taken. I have to say that most of us sitting here today have that luxery of wealth that many that I have spent my time round do not. It does not make you a bad person to have wealth, you just have to use that wealth for good."

If you do not mind, Even though I have bet against your bethrothed I think I will be cheering him on and hoping that he will win."
The Septon Beams at the thought of all the good that could happen from this Ladies generosity. This is a women of uncommon character and generosity. I will have to remember that.

The Septon smiles, Aye this man is clearly more then just a sword arm, and favors are funny things, tying people together through non binding agreements. This is a man I can be aligned with. Powerful people often move in interesting dance steps "
A favor it is then Ser Kevan. Things always are more interesting when assistance is involved."
He gives a big jovial grin to the tired knight. "
All this talk of bets makes me thirsty. Serving boy!"
He gestures over to the boy trying to sell some legs of turkey. "
This fine man is in need of some meat. I always recommend meat and lentils after a hard day of labor. I have discovered that it helps with soreness the next day"
He pays the boy a few coppers and gives him an extra copper for a tip.
