Ellie and Three-fingered Bruce sat beneath the branches of an old oak waiting for Ben and Willum. The afternoon sun brought warmth even beneath canopy of the massive tree. From the shade it was easy to make out the two riders as they approached. Ellie jumped to her feet. Bruce moving a bit slower found his footing and stood beside the young girl as she waved to her brother.

"
I told ya they'd be here. Aint no greedy knight or band of criminals going to keep down Lord Marsten."
Though the old man could see how low in the saddle the two sat and knew that if they weren't injured they were exhausted.

Ben swung down from the saddle and embraced Ellie with a small wince. He straightens his back after the hug and twists left to right as best he can in full plate. "
Lets get this investigation on with. I need to get out of this armor and get some food in my belly."

In the small group's travel through the local farms it was easy to see the smallfolk were fearful for their future. Looking deeper the underlying angry was visible. Ser Markus always warned that anger cloudy ones judgement.

Ellie lead the band in conversation with farmers. Suspicion of a young girl was far less likely than some upjumped Lord. They found some who would swear it was Ser Tryon leading the cavalry. Finding that one or two to testify was the More difficult part.

The fields yielded as much information as they would be crops to the odd bunch.
