In an isolated location, Daveth waited alongside Lord Baelon for the Tullison delegation to arrive. A small number of bodyguards lingered nearby, with a good number more waiting out of sight further away, in case Ser Theomore had decided to take advantage of the opportunity to do some 'mischief'.

Even after all I've done for their family, I still can't bring myself to trust anything that comes from that house.

The bigger danger is beside you. You're dangerously dependent on the Drakesons.

I'm optimally utilising resources.

Maybe.

Daveth shakes his head to clear out his doubts, and keeps his eyes attentive for the incoming party. Focus. Now's not the time for doubts.

Baelon stood idly by Daveth's side. He wasn't quite sure what this meeting was supposed to be about, but then again, he hadn't asked. Daveth had asked him to come along to this meeting, and so here he was - thoughts of Gwyn and Kerry Bracken circling his otherwise unoccupied mind.

[Reader]

The slight figure of Maester Haelis shuffles in to view. His robes almost seemed to hang off him, despite their form concealing bulk. A small honour guard accompanied him.

Hail and good afternoon Lord Daveth and Lord Drakeson."


He bows before opening with niceties about the weather.

"
Spring's chill seems to have been displaced by her sweet summer sister, at least for the day. Most irregular."

[Daveth Coldbrook]

Daveth feels a small amount of tension leave him on seeing the maester, followed immediately by its reappearance as his paranoia resurfaces, suspecting that that may be precisely the reaction intended. Still, he conceals his feelings and greets the maester politely. "
Hail and good afternoon, Maester Haelis."
with an answering bow. "
The weather is certainly unseasonal, but I'd sooner it be too hot than too wet if we're to be trudging all over the land in it."

Oh, it's the Tullison maester. What was his name again? I know we talked a few times when I was Gwyn's escort at Mountain's Reach, but for the life of me I don't remember...

Baelon stifles a sigh of relief.

Yve detangled herself from the guard and moved to be next to Haelis.

She said, tucking her black hair behind her ear. "
Thank you for agreeing to meeting us."

(OOC note: Sorry, didn't realise you'd be joining us, else I'd have modified it more promptly, but the timeslot used has jumped to Early Morning, as it's the only time I can make it because of other stuff that's happened)

Daveth gives a greeting bow. "
Lady Yve. A pleasure. Now, what is this meeting regarding?"

[Yve Tullison]

We want discuss peace."
Yve said, inclining her head to his bow. She was frowning slightly as if from thought. "
And what better way then to talk with someone like yourself, who may be amicable to such."

[Daveth Coldbrook]

I'm listening."
Daveth cautiously replies.

[Baelon Drakeson]

"
Lady Yve, good to see you again."
Baelon nods respectfully.

[Yve Tullison]

"
And you Lord Baelon."
Yve answered, before turning her attention back to Daveth. "
We were hoping that we had a common cause, in that the fued needs ending, and I am sure that you are working for that too. Being, as I am, part Blackwood yourself."

[Daveth Coldbrook]

Daveth slowly nods. "
I am indeed part Blackwood. Please, continue."

Maester Haelis took the lead, supported by the beautiful young Lady of House Tullison.

He impressed upon the Coldbrooks and Drakesons the strategic imperative overhanging the peace. The realm's situation was uneven, and House Tullison and all true friends of the Princess would be well reserved if the treaty was just but favoured loyal friends in House Blackwood where possible.

He listened patiently for any message from House Tullison, willing to convey them back to his Lord. The Tullisons were eager to end their strong backs and rich pockets to aiding the smallfolk, in keeping with the house's humble beginning.

...Is that it? Daveth thinks. Somehow, I expected ... more.

House Coldbrook will keep in mind the wider political situation when it presents its findings. Thank you for thinking of us."


Barring any unusual response, they bid farewell and leave.

His message relayed, his orders complete, Maester Haelis returned to House Tullison's quarters alongside the striking lady Yve, occasionally looking longingly in her direction.
