[ooc: This thread is for Marstens only, and takes places prior to the Velaryon incidents.]

Lady Corrine called for a meeting between her and her loyal banner lords, Kriegar and Lyras, to be held at Hartshorn. She made sure that they would be received in comfort, with good food &
drink prepared for them. Corrine thought they would probably support the Marsten claim on Market Town, but she wanted to make absolutely sure.

When their arrival was announced, she went down to the courtyard to greet them coming in the gates, as a show of her esteem.

Lord Kriegar arrived in a fine doublet, the safety of House Marsten's lands improved by recent military successes. The stern faced lord even came bearing gifts for once, laying Endurance at Corrine's feet and promising his house's undying fealty before presenting a finely illuminated manuscript. The towering lord was almost of a height with his lady even kneeling, but the fires of defiance that burned but a few years ago were now replaced with a warm loyalty. The tome commemorated a recent High Septon of Kriegar decscent's ascension in Oldtown, although the Faith leaned heavily towards House Hightower now.

"
Let the reign of Heaven extend from Hartshorn to Markettown my Lady,"
said Lord Kriegar, rising. "
Such will be good for the Kingdom, good for House Marsten and good in the eyes of the Seven."

Lord Aaron Lyras and his swarm of children was in marked contrast to the diminished Kriegar line, and Lord Kriegar's improved mood did not as yet extend to other families. Even in such turbulent times, there were some constant. His children filled the occasion with joy and merriment, but Lord Lyras and his plump wife occasionally broke off to confer with one another, exchanging frowns.

Lord Lyras declared that his family had committed enough heresy in generations past, he would not compound the scandal by failing to support his lady's worthy claims.

"
House Marsten thanks you both for your friendship and loyalty. I thank you,"
she added, warmly. "
May the Seven smile upon us all in this endeavour."

Her guests were invited to stay a time, and she enjoyed thr company of their families along with her own.
