A small scream goes unheard by most in the Tullison camp. The guard outside the tent recognized the frequent sound. He announced himself and peered into the darkness.

Ellie sat upon her bed, clutching her knees. Sweet dampened her hair and tears wet her eyes. "
I am alright Rykk. Thank you."
She rubs the sleep and tears from her eyes. "
I think I will go to see Lady Yve."
She slide from bed, pulling her dressing robe on.

Rykk escorted Ellie to Lady Yve's tent. He and Yves guards exchange knowing sympathetic looks.

Ellie speaks to the guards ignoring there looks of pity. Feeling a hint of anger at her show of weakness. "
Is the Lady awake or sleeping?"

[Reader]

A quizzical look from House Tullison's redoubtable guardsman Alyn, more sued to the rigours of patrols and drills than dealing with troubled young women.

"
My lady is at rest, as you should be."


He flexed his knee, feeling his old arrow wound flare up again after standing in the chill night air.

Ellis does her best sad puppy impression her eyes wide and wet, her lips pulled down in a pout. "
I promise if you let me in I won't disturb her. I had a bad dream and Ben is out with Dunstan and my tent is big and empty and ..."
She lets the water works go, tears streaming down her freckled cheeks.

The tears only half faked, she truly was scared. The dreams always made her that way.

Alyn wearily ran a hand through his coppery-red hair. This wasn't what he'd trained for.

"
My lady Yve needs her sleep, as do you. Shall I send for Maester Haelis to aid your sleep?"

Ellie turns from Alyn her tears coming now unaided. "
Come"

Rykk"
sniff. Wiping her nose with her sleeve she places her small hand in Rykks. Then sets off into the camp. Not caring she was in her dressing gown, only seeking to out run sleep till Ben returned.

I should have kicked him in that stupid knee. I hope he needs my help someday. I will tell him he just needs SLEEP!

Alyn shook his head in confusion as Ellie turned away, the kind words he wanted to shout after he catching in his throat.

Sighing, he shifted his weight to his good leg and resumed his watch.

As Ellie and Rykk begin their trek, they found themselves in the camp kitchen area. They sneak a few sweets and make off for the men at arms camp.

Ellie's eyes grow heavy. Her lids closing a little more frequently. Then staying closed a little longer. Then she could smell urine and damp wood. It was dark. She could feel straw on her bare feet. A light came out of the darkness, a lantern. Then she saw a familiar face and bam, she awoke as she slammed into Rykk. He was barely able to catch her. "
Have to stay a wake."
she righted herself rubbing her eyes till they hurt.

OoC: I am assuming I was not meant to be able to see Yve this evening, hence the departure.

OoC: I am assuming I was not meant to be able to see Yve this evening, hence the departure.

[OOC - it's late so it will be hard to get a meeting - you can try an intrigue (I was expecting the dice to come out or non-intrigue based ruse. Or you can try again tomorrow at a more appropriate hour.

Rykk reaches into a pouch on his belt, drawing out a finger full of a leafy substance. Then stuffs it into his lip. Ellie watches quizzically at first. Then recognizes the sourleaf. "
Can I have some?"


Rykk stares at her in disbelief. "
This ain't for no Lil Ladies."


Ellie put her hands on her hips and cocked her head sideways. "
Come on. You scared I will rat ya out?"

Try this 'ere"
Rykk hands her a pinch or sourleaf. "
Give a chew 'n put it down in yer lip. Make sure'n spit the juice don't swallow."


The initial taste was off-putting but the euphoria of light headedness that followed made up for it. Ellie found herself concentrating on spitting and not swallowing, sleep forgotten for the moment.

As they pass the reveling guards and other men enjoying the fires and drink, Ellie smiles and nods, it becomes clear by the men's looks that something is amiss. "
What is everyone gawking at Rykk?"


He smiles endearingly at the young girl. "
I don't think to many people ever seen a Lady walkin' through camp at night in her dressing gown, with the red smile."
The two laugh at their present situation.

Ellie and Rykk mill about the Tullison camp for sometime swapping odd stories, favored tales and house rumors. Her yawns begin to grow frequent and her blinks lasting longer.

Stopping out front of her tent she turns to Rykk "
I should probably try to sleep again. I feel much more calm now. Ben will probably be back soon anyway."
She starts to enter through the tent flap.

Rykk nods smiling at her state of wellness. "
Make sure t'rinse out your mouth. I don't want Ser Ben cloutin' me."
Ellie disappears into the tent. Then sticks her head back out smiling brightly. "
Thank you Rykk."
Her sincerity is easily seen in her big brown eyes. Then her head is gone.
