Off-Season Event: Set sail to sell sail Empty Off-Season Event: Set sail to sell sail

Word quickly spread amongst the local Ironborn of a chance to gain glory, wealth and the possibility for the younger Ironborn to claim their first life. All those wishing to join the raid were to meet near the set off point with their things ready to go. Many men and a few woman came to the meeting point, the people that didn't know how to fight were trained, the ones that didn't know how to work the ships were taught and those that failed at both were allowed to come if they brought their own ship. Darron took part in the training honing his skills to a fine edge that would be put to the test when clearing out these pirates. When he the word came that the men were ready Darron organised a meeting so everyone was clear on the targets. "Welcome, fellow Ironborn you have proven yourselves skilled with blade and ready ship handlers, these skills will be valuable to you as we go to clear pirates from the Stepstones, these men aren't going to be the pathetic villages that contain only welps that most raiders target we go after those that have tested their blades and have emerged triumphant. We go to relinquish the spoils they have fought for, they have bled for and they will die to protect as we take every worldly thing they have! Their gold is ours! Their wives and daughters? ours! Their lives?" Darron poses as a question to the crowd and with a resounding response "Ours!" "Yes! They just don't know it yet! When they see our ships they will know the Ironborn have came to claim what is rightfully ours!"

Darron paces back and forth on his raised platform in front of the crowd waiting for the cheers to die down, when they do a dissenting comes from a member of the crowd. "And what makes you think your a capable enough fighter to lead us, all I hear is words. When was the last time you raided huh? I hear all you do these days is let bastards kill true born heirs." Darron jumps down from his platform as the crowed moves away from the two men. The cold breeze and sounds of the ocean fill the silence as the two men stare at each other. The fact remained in Darrons mind he had sworn to protect those in House Longshore and had failed. Even though their was nothing Darron could have done to protect the cut down heir he still felt a deep regret for it.

Darron unsheathes his throwing axe, and the other man prepares himself. Sure Darron could have dragged the man kicking and screaming to the water and drowned him but he didn't deserve to be sent off to the drowned god yet. The two men move in a circle one waiting to either catch or jump the other when to throw to best catch his opponent off guard. The crowd moved even farther back from the two not wanting to get hit by a stray axe. Darron chooses to throw the axe gently hoping for his opponent to catch it and send it straight back, the man indeed catches the axe and does what Darron thought he would and throw it back straight away without putting enough force behind it. Darron grabs the axe out of the air and uses a full swing to put as much force as he can behind the axe, the man attempts to grab the axe but quickly realises he should have tried to jump with the speed of the axe being to much to grab he loses a finger and axe hits the ground behind him. The crowd erupts in cheers and laughter at the spectacle. Darron approaches the man and offers his hand. The man takes it the two men look at each other again. "Speak out of turn again and you'll find my hands holding your head as your lungs fill with sea water." The man nods in agreement. No sign of weakness can be given in front of these men and Darron knew it, the man was a example and his missing finger spoke more than words alone.

The next day the force set off to the Stepstones, the storm gods waves were no trouble for the mighty ships. Once the force arrived they set up camp in one of the many coves preparing for the full attack on the pirates base. The scouts that were sent had gathered some good intelligence on the base, the plan was for the main boats to block the entrance so none would escape while the smaller boats would be used to get troops near the base. The pirates were mostly caught off guard, the ones trying to escape in their boats found Ironborn ships and soldiers ready to put them to the sword. Darron personally took the field cutting down a number of the pirates making his way further into their base looking for the leader. Eventually he found the leader but they weren't what he expected being a female of Braavos descent. She utilised a sword and dagger which amused Darron greatly until she nearly disarmed him, she was skilled and had finesse but lacked any real defence when pressed. The woman landed a solid hit on Darron cutting into his arm with her dagger, this just spurned Darron into a berserk like state, he swings his shield right into the woman's face with a sickening crunch as she falls to the ground Darron drops his axe and slams the shield down on the woman's head until she stirred no more.

With the leader dead and the men blocked off from escape the Ironborn had won, the men took everything that wasn't bolted down, slaves, weapons, armour, horses and treasure. The wounded were seen to including Darron and once everything was loaded up the men set off back with their riches in tow. Young Ironborn had become men today, others had joined the Drowned god in death, prayers were sent to the drowned god that these men would serve him well. The rest of the journey was smooth and views of Dorne and high garden were a welcome sight. Stops were made to avail the men of trading some of their loot or to enjoy the whores of that port. Darron didn't partake keeping a clear mind, and focusing on keeping his men out of trouble. A threat of pain here and silver stag there meant his men wouldn't be chased out of these ports. On landing back home Darron let the men unload the loot and thralls he had done his part. A couple of days later a ship arrived, Darron went aboard and came back out holding a chest the telling sounds of coins inside, and with that the ship left and Darron made his way back to his room counting that all of his money for the sell sail contract was their, it was but he already knew what to do if it wasn't.
