Joust (R3): Loreia vs Rylon Chambers

Loreia had blown through the chaff. From here on out, her opponents would match her skill in the stirrups and begin surpassing her ability to fight. With visor dropped, she rides to her side of the lists, and across the way is Ser Rylon Chambers. Both prepare to meet each other's lances at the center.

Ser Rylon rode to the lane and saluted both the crowd and the Shieldmaiden. Loreia could see by the way he rode his horse and couched his lance that he was a step above the competition she had faced so far. Ser Rylon also had the motivation to not lose to a woman but that was something Loreia was used to by now.

The first strike was a powerful one that punished the shield of Ser Loreia.

Ser Rylon was satisfied with how the first pass had gone. He'd landed a solid blow against the Shieldmaiden and had handled her blow in turn. His satisfaction was short lived as it seemed the lance strike had done little lasting damage to her. Taking another lance Ser Rylon prepared himself for another charge.

Though not as good as his first pass, Rylon's second strike was none the less a good blow. With legs squeezing his horse tight Ser Rylon turned his head as the tourney lance exploded against the Ser Loreia's shield.

Barely a dent. The Shieldmaiden is a hale fighter, but Ser Rylon doesn't look to be feeling any strain. If only she could knock him down. If only it was a real fight.

Ser Rylon had landed two strong blows in succession but they weren't enough to unhorse the Shieldmaiden. This woman is like an iron rod. I can't get her to bend. As Rylon wheeled his horse around for another pass he decided to become more aggressive in his approach. Taking the tourney lance from his squire Rylon studied his opponent as he charge down the lane. Perhaps if I aim for the bottom of her shield.

Ser Rylon delivered another powerful hit but instantly knew he had overextended himself. He felt himself teetering dangerously to the side as Loreia's lance struck his shield.

The Shieldmaiden just barely keeps in her stirrups, while for attempting to quicken his opponent's fall, Ser Rylon is knocked from his horse by a matched blow. Clanking heavily, his armor chimes with his impact on the ground. With a triumphant smile, Loreia lifts her broken lance to the sky.
