Yoren rides upon a fine looking horse, and riding it masterfully, however his wobbling lance tells a different story indeed. He turns to the Royal entourage saying something in valyrian before taking position. Any who is looking may see that he is not carrying any favour on his armor or steed.

A great cheer goes up from the Longshores, surprised at the bravery of their would-be-heir. By good fortune or design, the Ironborn faces a knight from house Mallister, fierce foes of the raiders.

However, Ser Jaime is still a young man, not a famed tourney knight like his father Lord Petyr.

Yoren is drenched in anxiousness, no matter that he told Leifnarr about competing was more important than winning, he is fully aware of how easily it would be for the mallister to kill him in this situation. He forces his thoughts away from such thoughts. Yoren picks up speed as he closes on his target, but his lance still is not completely under his controll and he gets no more than a glancing blow to his opponents shoulder. His opponent hits him in much the same way, but Yoren manages to keep on his horse, although pain blossoms from his shoulder.

Wild cheers go up from the Ironborn - Yoren somehow prevails, knocking the young Mallister to the dirt.

Lord Petyr Mallister punches a wooden beam in the noble's enclosure in a fury, tempered by relief that his son survives with only a few bumps and bruises.

[OOC: : 3d6k2-2 4 - Ser Jaime falls from his horse! Miracle of miracles, Yoren actually wins a joust despite his shonky fighting stats. Hooray! He takes injuries to prevent the wicked Ironborn killing/maiming him, not that he doesn't trust you]

OOC
Of course he trusts me:)

Yoren takes a celebratory round shaking hands with the ironborn sharing jokes about whose lances was the longest, keeping his face cheerful regardless of the pain from his shoulder. Before returning to his tent for round two...
