Ser Jorah took his lance from one of House Coldbrook's pages, Hance was his name as he recalled and turned to face his opponent. As he could recall, this one was not the greatest of horsemen, but it was better not to take too many chances. He set his lance and position to be as balanced as possible as he charged forward.

Ser Heward Storm is a renowned freerider captain, but more famed for his leadership than horsemanship. He's popular with men and has enjoyed good fortune throughout his career.

His opponent's lance struck his shield firmly, but he easily remained in the saddle, turning slightly so he barely felt the blow. His opponent was barely capable of staying in the saddle and he overbalanced at the last moment as Ser Jorah's lance smashed directly on Heward's helmet.

: 8d6k4 23 4 DOS vs Passive ride 8. Ouch

8 per DOS = 32 - AR 8 = 24 damage
Animal Handling 15 to stay in the saddle - don't think he can handle it.

Ser Heward's loyal men looked on nervously as their bold captain toppled in the first round, matched against an opponent far beyond his abilities.

[OOC: You're right, he can't survive that, winner chooses result]

Today Ser Heward Storm's luck ran out as Ser Jorah's lance shattered upon his helm. Such was the force of the blow, he was unconscious before he even fell from his horse, hitting the ground with a crunch as he landed on his arm. The Maesters ran out to check on him, as the crowd held their breath. The early jousts always cleared the wheat from the chaff, but this was a crushing victory even by that standard.

Jorah waited for them to pronounce that Ser Heward was still alive and saluted his opponent and his men before riding back to his starting point, as Ser Heward was carried from the field by the Maesters and some of his men.

The crowd cheered the gesture and his men appreciated that their fallen leader's opponent was willing to check on him.

Consequence
Broken arm - whichever one was his primary, with unconsciousness for 6 hours
