(Just kidding of course Master LongBow, I actually like how the story changes from event to event!)
Sigh 1 meeting and Ser Kevan is already groaning at one of Luecian's stories like some of his House Dulver companions....I guess Luecian needs some new material!

I demand the tale only grows in the telling. Self-aggrandisement is the way forward.
Put enough effort in to propaganda (write me another poem/song?) and you too can earn yourself bonus reputation dice in the offseason. [Said in cheesy gameshow host voice]

Certainly not. Corrine would just be quietly smug, while wearing it's fur whenever possible. :;

No need to change. It's amusing how the story changes. Gives Luecian a fun character facet.

I, for one, approve of the archers antics. But that does not mean Septon Arlyn is not going to give Luecian a good ripping for the grandiose trails :-P

Oh he's not changing but maybe he can insert a new story or two. They just take a small bit of work...

This does bring up the question of what happens if multiple players wish to burn DPs on the same event. Not that I will be (one DP burn is enough for me, thank you very much), but someone else might.

I would assume a tie-breaker. Or negotiating an arrangement (a bit like a yield condition?)

Re: Mechanical discussion
While I think Lady Corrine and Luecian have reached an agreement for this specific hunt event assuming it possibly ends as we are anticipating...as a character with a high investment in character concept and skills around this area, I do have some concern for how the changes in this hunt affect future scenarios. I honestly can't help that they really diminish my character's investment in Survival(Hunt) etc. I've detailed my thoughts and while Reader may disagree, I'd at least like them considered for future hunt events.
Around the burning of the dp, it guarantees Lady Corrine a TN 18 result on that hunt as she has noted, it doesn't necessarily guarantee a successful kill the way the scenario was originally written which is why Reader made the amendment of a possible extra shadowcat.
There is no tie breaker listed on the hunt, but the act of burning the dp itself only guaranteed the above result, it shouldn't guarantee a win on the hunt except for the fact that a tie breaker is currently lacking.

You can still win huntin 2 more boars, there is 3 rolls so a Shadow cat kill does not give you the win for the event.

I'm aware and I agree, I was stating it more as a clarification. Although unless I'm guessing wrong I think her strategy will give us a good chance of both ending with 11 points total. Like I said we have tentatively reached an agreement on this hunt, I just have concern these changes on future hunts.Athelstan wrote:You can still win huntin 2 more boars, there is 3 rolls so a Shadow cat kill does not give you the win for the event.

Shoot Corrine, claim the kill (of the shadowcat, not Corrine).

Mechanically, Hps replenish the moment the combat or incident are over.
Carriker (one of the game devs) said that, assuming you survive falling off a cliff, when you stand up, you are at full HP should someone at the bottom initiates combat with you (but would have any injuries or wounds as a result of the fall.)
If the duel and the next combat are not continuous, then you would be at full HPs.

As noted, the gloves come off a bit for Story 2.
Gaze on in fear as I begin to pick-off various PCs based on their drawbacks/vices.

I'm particularly looking forward to D4, which hits several drawbacks PCs have selected in a single event.
Wickedness and efficiency.

Luecian received the note from the boy whom he told to stay as he reviewed it. Not possessing the gift of letters the only things he recognized upon first review was an inverted boar. Well guessing that would explain who its from. He takes a close look at the rest of the letter trying to see if he can notice any further clues and not wanting to let the lad know he did not know his letters. On second glance he seems to get the gist of the note. Not sure why he be sending a letter telling me I'm part of House Dulver but guess I'll need to be finding him to ask... Questioning the boy for the location of the man who had given him the letter, he plans to set off towards Blackbuckle after his planned investigation.Lytuchn Lnlngam

Yeah.. I loved that.
But I I want to comment on something.
The rules under cunning say you decipher a paragraph of writing with each success, but the table to makes no sense. Why would you need to roll a Challenging (9) to read writing that you could anyway with a 3 in that Language? (page 61)

Let's assume that the section under Decipher applies to pieces in code which is what I think the text implies but I appreciate it's unclear.

Luecian's a bit outdated with technology, while everyone else gets text letters..he gets beeper letters and then has to go track the person down...

Re: Mechanical discussion
Luecian is a wonderful example of a non-intrigue specialist being willing to get stuck in to intrigues and roll with the punches, he's done it several times.
Others are at it too (Loreia &
Dunstan's scene springs to mind, sure there are more).
I know there's a competitive element here, but these IC intrigues are great to see too. "
Losing"
/yielding can lead to good story! In BiTW my PC beat some NPCs in intrigues but was happy to lose to some of the PC specialists to plant a story seed (never came to fruition as game needed, but another PC basically had a manipulation hanging over my naive head).
Debating winning/losing consequences via PM first can help too, not sure if you guys are doing that but it was a favourite in our L5R PbP games, made things easier if everyone knew what was at stake.
The above said, the Ben/Baelon quit was very IC and added some nice friction, so quitting can make sense too.

I'd like to do more intrigues, but I get so confused by the mechanics that I shy away from them.
