OOC: Arg, okay. No shield means both hands and no two-weapon attack. I will drop the shield. If I roll Agility of TN12, can I pick it back up for free next round? Bastard swords only have the Adaptable quality though, so it would be 6. Actually, that means I'm replacing the greater action with a lesser. So, I will add a knockdown after my attack.

Can pick-up next round as a lesser action, afraid agility is useful enough without free action shenanigans, which I worry would create balance issues later, albeit not that much in this instance. Sad ]

Dunstan finds himslef swooped from his feet, and badly smashed with Loreaia's bastard sword. His head spinning he somehow manages to rise up on his legs once again, knock her down with a wild shoulder to chest hit and land a punch while she is down. Blood starts dripping from the edge of his mouth and he is exausted, but willing to fight more.

So, Loreaia does 2 DoS, that's 14dmg - 10ar = 4dmg.

Dunstan is completely under the influence of adrenaline as his foe leaps back onto her feet and deals a blow that cracks through his armor and bites into his flesh. As a response, he once again tries to knock her down to the dirt, but she somehow manages to wiggle away from him.
Lifting his mace high up to the sky, he does manage to drop it down and hit her eventually.

She had half-expected the boy to attack again, for which she was inwardly grateful he didn't. Nodding, she grabs his hand firmly in the spirit of camaraderie. "
If I can best Jorah, I hope so too m'lord,"
she answers. She turns around to face the Coldbrook knight, on the far side of the field, nakedly aware of something absent from her offhand...

[OOC: Set for charge isn't a separate action... just something that can happen if certain conditions are met. "
If an opponent charges to attack you during a round in which you have used the counterattack action and are armed with a Fighting weapon..."
all three conditions have been met: an opponent charged to attack Ser Jorah, he used the counterattack action, and he is armed with a fighting weapon. Indeed, if it were a separate action it would never meet the second condition and thus would never take effect. Given the distance between you, a charge would be expected. It turns out not to matter, given the roll below...]

Another note, you shorted yourself a die on that roll. The -1D doesn't reduce the number of dice you roll, just the number you keep. If a normal attack is 4d6, a charge would be 4d6k3. Again, in this case it would not make a difference, as at most you could add 3 which would be 1 DoS, insufficient to get past his 9AR.

One final note, I misreported Ser Jorah's status when declaring the counterattack;
he only has 5 health, not 6.]

Ser Jorah Counterattack from Round 10

Ser Jorah manages to slip his sword past Loreia's damaged shield, but she expertly twisted in the way that he had been teaching Wrecker Jon, and his hit just skittered along her breastplate.

Ser Jorah Round 11

Having ineffectually traded blows with Loreia, Ser Jorah decides that he needs to take his time and be more precise in his attack.... but Loreia's long experience with seeing him fight lets her recognize his movements and she easily deflects his blow with her shield.

*I blame the rulebook. Getting better at this, bit by bit. Oh I agree, I was expecting some serious backfire.*

Round 12

Reaching for a victory, Loreia throws her shield at Jorah and attempts to take him down with a frontal assault. The shield toss catches him off guard, allowing her to get through his defense, but she awkwardly handles the switch from one hand to both for her sword. The power in her swings clangs against Jorah's plate, the tactic leaving her wide open.

OOC: choice given to defeated party! Surely we had an "
if you defeat me"
exchange earlier. She is willing, against her hang-up, to knock him out.

: 5d6k4 16

Pausing a moment to make sure the unconscious knight isn't seriously hurt, Loreia grins inwardly at her success and looks up to the crowd for Lord Tomas. Even as she lifts her head...

Spit.

Her smile disappears in an instant. Praise and adulation for those with strength at arms. Gold, titles, horses for those who triumph in tests of martial mettle. Wine, favors, warm beds for men not above reaping overly of what the realm is willing to lavish upon them.

Taunts and boos from a crowd of hypocrites and fools for the last woman standing in the dirt. Spit by an outraged commoner at losing his bet, and at the hands of an upstart bitch, who dared not loose his froth too close as to land on her. "
Bear cunt!"
he shouts in frustration.

Loreia's hand curls into a fist. The threat of her nails breaking skin is nulled by the gloves she wears. Here among the main lands, her place is not in a ring of dirt and blood. Her place is not girded in steel with a sword strapped to her side. Her place is at home, cleaning and cooking as she waits for her dirty-footed, shit covered husband to return, and to feed and clean him like the dog he very well may be.

Fuck them. I've already made my own place. Despite her newfound animosity, she keeps to her purpose, and raises her fist to salute Lord Tomas among the stands, refusing the extra courtesy of a bow.

[OOC: I realized that my original post was not In-Character. I was told that I would face a lot of stigma for playing a woman who can fight, and I think I didn't really understood until I actually faced it here. So the above is my new In-Character post, with how my character would really respond.]

Original post:
Loreia forces a laugh, trying to get herself going. After all, she bested her superior, from her northern house. She's proud as all hell. And on the subject of bear-fucking, how many of these southron fools can say they'd have the courage to try? But she fails at finding hilarity in the insults and the southron spectators' expressed chagrin;
however, she's able to get herself going on a giggle after having to take a moment to find humor in the absurdity in the situation.

[The attempt to laugh makes it look like I've gone hysterical, and I don't believe it's in her character to devolve into hysterics that easily.]
