[D9 Early Afternoon] Needle in a library (Open)
The musty smell of olds assails Septon Arlyns nostrils as he arrives at the library. Seeking a quiet moment to eat the sandwich he gathered from the kitchen he sits down at a small tablein an alcove, hoping that Pate would not come scold him for eating in the sandwich near all his precious books. At least the library seemed to escape any damage, unlike the poor door to the Sept. Must be because few people think of all this knowledge in the library as worth as much as a single silver stag they see the nobles drop into the alms box. thinks the Septon sadly. As the Septon bites into the sandwich an explosion of flavors erupt into his mouth. The deep rich tones of the roast beef mixes together with the tangy bitterness of the horseradish sauce he had spread quickly on the sour bread that was still warm from the oven. Now this is delightful Thinks the Septon.
After he finishes his sandwich and proceeds to lick off his fingers, a familiar face appears, peering around the corner of the alcove.
"
What do you think your doing?"
asks Pate in a harsh whisper.
"
I'm... a..."
The Septon is at a loss for words, being caught red handed by Pate.
"
Are those crumbs?"
Pate continues indignantly, referring to the white specks that Septon Arlyn was absent mindly brushing off onto the floor.
"
Well the thing is Pate, what I mean to say is..."
the Septon begins.
"
DON'T YOU KNOW THAT HOW YOU GET ANT'S?!??!?!?!?!?"
asks the distraught Pate in a tone much louder then any that the Septon had ever heard the quiet scribe use before.
"
Iwaslookingforabook"
The Septon Stammers, clearly trying to distract the hysteric Pate.
"
I have a book for your messy holiness right here!"
Declares the Scribe, reaching into one of the bookshelves with practiced ease and procuring a heavy book with faded letters on it, but even though the fading Septon Arlyn could read. "
Maester Pyles book of natural wonders Vol 2, Insects."
Flipping with practiced ease through the pages, Pate shoved the book under Septon Arlyns nose, "
See right here it says, and I quote, "
"
The best way to ensure that the pests known as ants stay away from any common areas is to ensure that there is nothing there to attact them. They seem to be able to find any scraps of food left laying around quickly and proceed to make a chain of ants that travels in two directions, one towards the next away from the food, and one from the nest two the food."
With that he slams the book shut in front of Septon Arlyns nose and begins to huff and puff angrily
"
Thank you for that kind information,"
Septon Arlyn Squeeks, "
Perhaps you could help me find a book I am looking for? It seems to be that Ser Jorah Still has not found his book yet and I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me find it?"
I am going to increase the difficulty from a 9 to a 18 due to Pates enraged state

"
How about I help you by not getting in your way, and you can help me by staying out of my way while I clean up your mess."
Pate hisses
