Do we also receive any loot? I remember that we have to pay the mercenary archers out of the loot we secure. I guess glory is not loot, so we do not have to pay one of them out?

Mercenaries are indeed due some of the loot, albeit you can renege on that.

Side note, Edmund might have thought he was lying to the archer commander about these being easy battles, but it seems he was actually telling the truth...

House Marsten's recruiting prowess certainly made things easier! Ser Kevan had a good estimate on the strength of the clans thanks to his warfare roll.
