Re: Game Discussion
Ooc Athelstan is going to die, he will never admit to it, but he is also trying to cooperate and take them to were he took the wildfire.
OOC we can all say and pm we only wanted ti talk and get info, then IC is different, and I know this is his final moments. And he is going yo be stubborn and threats dont work, like he said, just ask and he was going to cooperate. I also said IC he know no one will believe whatever he said for who he was.

Im cool with Athel dying, it happens decisions can bite you in the arse, its when OOC there is a disparity. OOC and IC that seems misleading from both parties, like Athelstan said SHOOT. Let it have repercussions or none possibly, and Athelstan will say his final words that may or may not hunt others PC to death besides, he is going to his horse for the axe

Awesome. Might be best just to handle this narratively with a cool evocative death scene?

See the Athhelstan thread (where this should be happening ) - they'll arrive as you fall for drama without complicating an intrigue and dragging things out.

Athelstan mentioned it to Corrine in some IC conversation, I believe.

Athelstan thinks you mught, but has no evidence so we concluded it could also be a third party.

Re: Game Discussion
I'm pretty sure anyone that knows Dunstan a little bit would reject the idea that he planted any sort of false evidence. Prejudiced? Sure. Obstruction of justice? No.
Except maybe Theo and Yve who probably have noticed that he has become hardened as of late.

With Marei gone, he is everything but hardened. Har!
..but yeah, planting evidence is not really his style, yet.

Hopefully he takes a page out of Theo's book before starting:
Let someone plant evidence for you.

Hence why Athelstan hasnt confronted him, suspucion or circumstancial evidence wouldnt be enough, so just suspicion.

Personally, may I suggest that an IC course of action out of this might be Corrine stepping in and demanding that Athelstan is taken into her custody? Because we're in a bit of awkward OOC situation currently.
I am very much in favour of this, and will act on it once the thread is unlocked.
I picked the wrong time to fall asleep.

Re: Game Discussion
That's an awesome solution and serves to further fuel the triangular drama between Ben, Corrine and Athelstan! Go for it.
But discussion of this conflict has spilled over into threads outside the one created specifically to address the issue, so let's put an end to that.

The more times I read this passage the more times I feel this would happen in the books/TV show, it feels very, genre appropriate.

Raynald is the "
heel"
type of charactere needed for the game's flavour to capture the source material, just as Theomore is. Great for the story, but obviously thoroughly reprehensible OOC.

A thought - in among all the drama, I should note some houses have made splendid progress on their investigations. Well done for some good rolls, playing to character strengths and caring enough about the game and setting to think through the crimes so rigorously. Some wonderful stuff in the house forums.

I think it's because you've made these investigations fun - it's not as simple as a few rolls and boom, you know everything. There is some really good plot-writing under it all. Ever thought about writing a novel?
Wait, strike that, keep running games instead, I want to be a part of all your best plot-writing!

Very flattering and kind, but I also owe a lot to engaged players.
Plus a novel might be an unkindness to the world. I often remark to my colleagues that despite all the damage the financial services industry may have done, it has at least given a small kindness in preventing a lot of investment analysts from writing a lot of poor novels.

In part, because I need to add some human skulls to go with all the horse skulls I was accumulating. People were starting to look at me funny.
