[D4, LA, Closed] Entrapment

Samurel waited just within eyesight of Warrior's Seat;
watching and waiting for the Arrival of Kevan. the hot dry air and the bright sun in the sky did little to lighten his mood.

Daytime is for the damned, sod this infernal sun.

Time went by, and in his mind he ran through the routine that Sandor and Arthur took together

they should be within the courtyard at this point... Kevan, where are you, now was the time to strike.

Little by little the time ticked on, little by little the tiny footpaths that ran along Samurels mind formed and reformed.

Today, we catch a snake.

[Kevan Lyras]

Kevan arrived at the planned meeting point, where Samurel was already waiting. The young man did not seem overly happy but maybe it was just his way to hide the tension of the discussed plan.
"
Hi Sam, are you ready to strike? I have to say, your return from Essos made things a lot more interesting!"

[Samurel Manderly]

Nostrils flaring, a grin on his face.

"
Don't you know me Kevan, I've always aimed to be an interest instigator... are your men in position, should our target not be cooperative? I've narrowed down our choice to Arthur, the least stable of the two. I'll point him out to you, then I must be gone, can't have either of them know I'm working with you... Have you decide on what charges we're bringing him in under, something that would cause worry to Sandor and Steffon to be sure."

[Kevan Lyras]

"
Some of our men from her Lady's Lance are already in place, but if possible, I will not involve them. I do not think that our target will try to flee and my loud voice should make sure any bystanders hear on what charges we bring him in."
The last remark was combined with a slight wink.
"
Yes, I think we take him into custody for his involvement with the crimes against House Blackwood in general. If he should ask about the specifics, we mention the attacks in the Darry borderlands and a potential involvement in the assassination, that should scare them enough. What do you think?"

[Reader]

Arthur stumbled forth from the Warrior's Seat's Septry, forcing his way through traffic. The septry had been busier than normal these past weeks following the senseless destruction of the grand Setpry in Battle Valley.

His eyes were curiously red as he moved blinked in to the Spring light, unaware of the trap Samurel and Kevan had set for him.

[Kevan Lyras]

Ser Kevan was leaning on a wall nearby, waiting for Samurel to give him the sign to start the arrest. His eyes followed Arthur closely as he stumbled from the septry.
Was he crying, praying for forgiveness?
He looked back at the Marsten spymaster, waiting for his entry into this play they were about to perform...

"
And there's our boy now, I rather think your thoughts are in line with mine Kevan"


With a wink and a curled grin

"
Make the arrest nice and loud, can't have his arrest be for not now can we."

[Kevan Lyras]

"
Lets do this!"

Kevan gets up from his observation spot near the wall and moves quickly through the crowd. Before the the distracted Bracken guard can react, Kevan lies one hand on the shoulder of his target and the other on the man's sword hilt. His men are surrounding him but mostly blend in with the crowd around.
He raises his voice to ensure that all bystanders can here what he says:
"
Arthur, retainer of House Bracken, you are taken into custody in the name of the royal investigators appointed by the crown for your involvment with the crimes in these feud with House Blackwood. You will have to answer to a interrogation. Do you give me your word to accompany me to House Marsten's pavillion without trying to flee or do I have to bound you?"

Samurel's observations are borne out by events - Arthur was indeed troubled and goes as meekly as a lamb, eyes downcast.

This close, Ser Kevan can tell the guardsman stinks of alcohol and has been crying or ingesting strange drugs.

A great commotion erupts around the busy Septry at the dramatic arrest, the political theatre is complete.

Little did the faithful of the Warrior's Seat know, that they would have even more explosive events to discuss by the day's close...

Now to watch... and Wait... I do wonder what Steffon and Sandor's reactions might be, only one wait to find out I suppose.

Taking the same patches of clothing Samurel has been using in the very warrior's seat, Samurel makes his way to the patrol grounds of both Sandor, and of Steffon. Looking the part of a cleaner, as much needed in a keep as any other duty, curiously a cleaner that's been seen quite commonly now, no attention be needed, no suspicion be cast. The two conferred together at the next changing of the guard, summoning no further parties to their scheming. It could be assumed whatever conspiracy existed was confined to this trio, temporarily deprived of one of its numbers.

Samurel is able to get close enough to hear Ser Steffon imploring Sandor to keep quiet.

Say nothing. Do nothing. Flight draws eyes and brings risks - questioning is normal."


Once more Samurel's talents proved sufficient, rendering him just another face in the castle.

As Arthur shows no signs of opposition, Kevan takes him into custody. His men gather around him and the guard is escorted to House Marsten's camp. Kevan and his entourage remain silent during the whole trip, just as he had ordered before. No need to discuss anything here in the open...
