[D6; ?] A Youth's Regrets (closed except Davain)
Ben nervously paces Strax about the remains of the Green Door Inn, awaiting the arrival of the Blackwoods, Brackens, and invited Royal party members. Ashes still smolder with small trails of smoke wafting in the air. The unmistakable smell of burnt wood and flesh hang low and damp.
He shakes his head clear, unsure if the disturbance he feels is at the horrid events that took place hear or having to be part of mediating this affair. Blood and death can be frightening, but words and civility among Blackwoods and Brackens
seemed a more daunting task.
(ooc: The party will be traveling across many sites, hence why it was placed in here. I left the timeslot open as I am not sure when all the other NCs would be available.)

The young Lord Blackwood seems moved by the devastation, and it is hard to tell if his uncle Ser Myles is uncaring, fuming with anger at the hated Brackens or simply trying to show the lad how a lord acts in public. Instead the boy looks to Lord Marsten often for reassurance and a kind word instead of his regent's austere example.
Lord Haig seems satisfied at the apology and events are recorded in the rolls without any mishaps. A small step towards healing the region.
There was a brief flash of tension as Lord Bracken rested his hand on his sword's hilt, causing Ser Myles to defensively mirror the movement, but beyond this flashpoint and the odd snide word the presence of the royal investigators kept both parties in line.
[OOC: thread freed up for players to operate, plus any reaction to Ser Myles/Lord Blackwood family issues]

Ben nods to Benji each time and occasionally slips in a feint smile of pride.

When the tensions rise Ben does his best to bring lite to the situation, jesting and relating off-the-cuff stories.
As they approach their final destination, Ben says his good byes to both parties. He saves his last farewell for Lord Davain. Riding up to the young Bartheld heir, he gives a mounted bow, tipping his head.
"
Lord Davain, you have my thanks for your presence and help in keeping things civil."
