Post by Ser Jorah Holt Tue Feb 09, 2016 12:19 pm

Whom is assisting on this matter?

We have two leads to follow
Shattered Rock Septry – She is known to have been there for several months, including over winter.
She is no longer there, but they may know a) why she went there, b) where she went next, c) whom the father was
There is no child

Ser Erryk Vance – House knight of House Daleford – known to be friendly with Lily Daleford – he is out looking for her. He needs to be found – he may have pertinent information or may be a problem. Ser Erryk is a tall man, well-made. Clean shaven, light brown hair

Ooc
No, Eddie Remayne is not involved in this plot

Nathan will be working on this, although whether he is physically present remains to be seen. Assume he has already alerted his contacts and moved spies into the area.

I'm happy for Corrine to help.

As head of a house, I doubt you can really go out looking for her yourself, but considering some of the potential issues surrounding her disappearance, I think you can help.

Either I might need somebody like Corrine to speak to her or maybe provide a safe refuge as I think Shattered Rock Septry is closer to House Marsten than the other houses searching.

exactly why you might be the best choice to speak to her, especially if her motives for running away are as the evidence suggests with the father being a certain knight

Loreia would suggest we find Erryk Vance first. Since he's on the move and looking for Lily Daleford, it would be a relief to know he's a friend, or to have dealt with him.

As the black hood was pulled from the man's head he hastily looked around the dark room. Dimly lit, it was difficult to see. A cellar perhaps, or a storeroom. Moments later, Nathan entered the pool of candle light and sat in the chair opposite.

"
You? I told you I know nothin about the girl."

Nathan smiled. "
Yes, you did. I don't care for people who lie to me, but I won't hold it against you."

"
I was na lying."

"
Yes you were."
smiled Nathan. "
That much, at least, I have confirmed. Let me make this exceedingly simple for you. The rather thugish man behind me works for three-fingers Jake. You owe Jake thirty-five silver in gambling debts. Your answers to my questions will determine whether I give him the silver you owe or you. Your choices, and the consequences of those choices, are entirely yours. I will get the information I need. How unpleasant the process will be is up to you."

Corrine uses her people skills to aid in the search. She makes enquiries at local septs, using House Marsten's strong connection to The Seven as a means to gather information on Lily Daleford and her kidnapping.

Loreia* starts with where Erryk was last reported and rides out that way to try and get his trail. It becomes as mundane as she thought it would be, trying to catch up on a cold trail relying upon word of a knight in shiny armor without a description, or that of a dashing man in splint depart in a given direction. Could have been the wrong direction. After a couple days, starting to feel discouraged, her pet scurries off, forcing her to spur the horse to where he stops. Then it becomes clear: he lit upon ashes long past smoking. Nearby is one wet log. Sparse signs, but he must be combing the land.

At her command, and then the pointing of her finger, Badger begins poking his nose around. Upon closer examination of the area, the grass appears flatter on the opposite side of camp. Kneeling to examine the flatter ground, she immediately notices a token left behind, some discarded remnant of the night spent in this spot. "
Nothing."
She sighs. Soaked like the rest of the land, from rain that had passed the day before.

Badger grabs her attention with a short bark.

"
What? What is it?"
she asks, suddenly hopeful. Badger sniffs at a the base of a tree further out from the ashes, picks something up in his mouth and brings it to her.

"
Rope?"
Precisely, the littering of a discarded piece of rope left at the base of a tree.

"
Someone hitched their horse here. Maybe we can follow? Dammit."
Too damp. The blessing of rain is become the earth's tears for her misfortune. She ponders the wisdom of continuing in the direction she'd been traveling. Erryk may have been in this area, a useless conclusion if she couldn't follow a lead. At the moment, she can only continue where she left off, but she had found a camp and some evidence - at least of someone being here - thanks to her hound's eye for what looks like people.

Jorah and Trelane try to puzzle out from the information they have of her movements and motives.

"
If she left the Septry, then most logically this is the route she would have gone."
Jorah explain

"
That sounds more like something Daveth would say."
Trelane smiled.

Sadly, from overhearing about two rogue hedge knights being spotted in the area at the same time, they quickly ascertained that Lily had been taken by them.

Total= 27 [6d6k6+2=[6, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2*]] 3 DoS

At every stop along the way, Luecian bought a few drinks for the locals and shared some stories to entertain them. When he felt he had established a rapport with his new found friends, he began to ask around for any information that might be connected to Lily Daleford or strange folk passing through. After a time his efforts seem to pay off as a few fellows recalled seeing a couple hedge knights with a young girl passing through and heading towards Saltpans.

"
Aye they were right mean looking folk for knights, seemed a bit on the shady side if you be asking me. Kitchen girl swear they snuck a young girl up to their room but never saw her down in the common room at all. Seems a bit strange to me if its true but kitchen girl likes to gossip a bit so who be knowing for sure. Seemed to be heading out going east past the Trident and towards the Bay of Crabs as they rode out of town."

Luecian listened intently to the man, nodding at various points and urging the man onward. This be seemin promisin if it be true, hoping its so. "
Good friend, let me be ordering ya another round or two for yer troubles. No doubting yer words be appreciated goodman, this huntsman be in yer debt if yer words prove true."

Nathaniel 4 DoS
- Lily Daleford was for some time at the Septry at shattered Rock.
- She was pregnant, although without finding her you only hear wild rumours of the parentage. Tragically, she miscarried.
- A pair of hedge knights, Ser Abel Redwyne (previously captain of the guard for House Frey at The Twins, recently dismissed) and Ser Perkin the Flea seized her as she wandered in grief and solitude near the septry.
- The hedge knights sold her to a brothel near Saltpans, run by Myrish crimelord, Red Dorro. His exotic nature is vital to tracking him down. You hear her golden hair, light skin and wide forehead have seen her proclaimed a great beauty. Even this is not a mercy to Lily - there is talk of a place for her on a Lyseni galley from a mysterious foreign buyer.
- Why has the woman not proclaimed herself or smuggled out some message?

Corrine 1 DoS
- Lily Daleford was for some time at the Septry at shattered Rock.
- She was pregnant, although without finding her you only hear wild rumours of the parentage. Tragically, she miscarried.

Loreia 1 DoS
- A pair of hedge knights, Ser Abel Redwyne (previously captain of the guard for House Frey at The Twins, recently dismissed) and Ser Perkin the Flea seized her as she wandered in grief and solitude near the septry.

Jorah 1 DoS
- A pair of hedge knights, Ser Abel Redwyne (previously captain of the guard for House Frey at The Twins, recently dismissed) and Ser Perkin the Flea seized her as she wandered in grief and solitude near the septry.

Luecian 3 DoS
- Lily Daleford was for some time at the Septry at shattered Rock.
- A pair of hedge knights, Ser Abel Redwyne and Ser Perkin the Flea seized her as she wandered in grief and solitude near the septry.
- The hedge knights sold her to a brothel near Saltpans, run by Myrish crimelord, Red Dorro. His exotic nature is vital to tracking him down.

Pooling DoS - currently 7 DoS (assuming you all cooperate), minimum required 3. Excess DoS can be used for...
- 1 DoS = cut discovery time by one week. Default search period 4 week.
- 1 DoS = a better planned rescue, reducing the ten opponents present by one.

Decisions by Tuesday night UK time please. Above is just a framework - feel free to pitch me on bringing in local lords (going in mob handed has risks in attracting attention from Red Dorro or House Cox) or other uses for excess DoS.

[Mine goes toward this, specifically toward finding Erryk Vance if we can aim for that.]

[So, who will be with me when I go berserk on the hedge knights? I would like someone to be with me, so I will wait on Luecian and Jorah to answer that.]
[OOC: Above was my original post. Due to my own misunderstanding, I thought the hedge knights were informing on their involvement directly.]

[I am instead putting my success toward reducing the number of enemies by 1. If the hedge knights are part of the original opponents, I would prefer we keep them on the list. Twisted Evil ]

Stage 1, Loreia's success
- 1 DoS = a better planned rescue, reducing the ten opponents present by one.

Corrine will focus on reducing the time taken to track down Lily, by liading woth the others involved in the search, and trying to reach her before she is taken east. She will default to persuading information out of people, but will apply some pressure if necessary.

I suggest reducing the time to 2 weeks (2 DOS)

that leaves 5 DOS to reduce numbers to 5 people to face

Vs Loreia, Ser Jorah, Luecian, Trelane and Badger
Davain did post to get involved, so if he wants to join the fight

what do we know about House Cox and can we get their forces involved for a couple of DOS?

Convincing Cox to help can be handled by using DoS (e.g. Convincing their men to assist, thing up opposing fighters and reducing combatants).

Agreed on that plan as well though Luecian would argue against bringing in outside forces as to try to not spread what's happened to the girl to additional ears.

Given the nature of the situation, Nathan definitely makes a personal appearance. He is pissed. This man is obviously giving brothels a bad name and besmirching the entire industry. (I assume if Nathan is going, so is Ser Jon, but that is up to Reader.) Nathan is not completely unfamiliar with fighting, as he has been training with Jon.

If numbers are reduced, assume it's because they have 'accidentally' fallen of cliffs, died of mysterious illnesses, or stabbed in the back in an alley in an apparent robbery. (Pissing off Nathan is a generally bad idea.)

I also would like to try and reduce the time to as low as possible. Forcing her to have sex could cause her to miscarry and Nathan would try to prevent that if at all possible.

Davain Bartheld has not rolled yet, so we may have a few more DoS to play with.
