The remaining hedge knight channels his rage into another attack at the well-armored foe in front of him. His brute force knocked his target towards the ground and he followed up with a blow that was both well placed and powerful. Alas the armor he struck was of a higher quality than any he had seen before and the brunt of his attack was easily absorbed by it.

Red Dorro attacks the knight before him and using his great strength manages to knock the knight off his feet. He follows quickly smashing his ball and chain down at his prone foe but the blow is not as well struck as he hoped and seems to have no impact on the knight.

(OOC- Jumped in to hopefully help move this along. Loreia that is definitely some awesome armor! I clearly don't melee much but I thought the knockdowns were successful, if they weren't feel free to adjust the attack rolls.)

Luecian is going to stay on counterattack throughout the round on the off chance something new joins the fray. His focus is very clearly on protecting Lily Daleford and has confidence in both our knights in solo combat.
(OOC- I know its unlikely anything new joins given OOC knowledge but IC on think that is the decision he would reach. If the knights were outnumbered he would perhaps reach a different decision.)

Trelane is up for Rd 2 action.

Trelane brought his horse to a halt just behind Lily Daleford. Switching the grip on his shortsword, he leaned over and sliced through the ropes binding her. if this were any other time, he was sure he would be appreciating the sight before him, but now was not the time;
Ser Jorah had ordered him to get her to safety and that's what he was going to do.

"
My name is Trelane Connington, I'm here to rescue you."

We seem to have ground to a halt again.

Lucien has taken a counterattack action.

Corrine is next and may take a shot.

Then Loreia may take an attack on H4.

Then I will take my action.

Finding the twin tasks of riding and shooting more complicated in an actual battle, Corrine slowed Jory, so she circled Red Dorro, at a much reduced speed, in order to aim more effectively.

[Doro is hit by Corrine. He mitigates all damage by taking 2 injuries. Well struck, my lady.]

Her enemy's efforts yield no purchase from the mounted rider - nor the horse, if the gelding was his true aim. For her, emboldened by the company of her close and furred companion, the effort is almost gone - after parrying - to skewer the false knight from collarbone to liver. He stiffly sinks to the ground until she pulls her weapon free, then falls limp.

Dismounting, she calls her pet by name and points for him. "
Badger, go, grab 'im."

For the first time in several days, Badger understands a particular sound Master has been making at him when she wants things. When Master wants him to bite her, the longer he holds on, the more Master rewards him. He races after the two people in tough shiny skin, and recognizes one - a friend to master. He doesn't like the other. Badger latches onto his leg and shuts his mouth as tight as he can. The bad man shakes him free though, his teeth raking against the tough shiny skin. Badger reels from the sudden smashing hurt on his nose, and his mouth is empty of the bad man's leg, leaving him with the shiny shame of failure. I have to try again, he thinks. Master won't see what I learned until Master sees that I can do it.

Nathan walks toward Red Doreo, glancing at Lilly and Trelane.

"
Yes, milady. He is here to rescue you. The rest of us are just here for the after-slaughter reception. I hope there will be pie!"

Nathan turns to Red Doro looming over Ser Jorah and shakes his head.

Why is it these Knights offer honor to those clearly undeserving of it. Still, I suppose there are some advantages to taking the man alive.

Swirling off his tattered cloak, Nathan throws it at the man... a cloak tattered by design rather than wear.

OOC: Move to F4.

: 5d6k3 -1 8

1 Success, no damage, Red Doreo is entangled.

Movement reduced to 1 yard.

Takes a -5 penalty to all rolls.

Must spend a greater action and test athletics (strength) or agility (contortions) vs. TN9 to free himself.

Red Doreo roars in frustration as his weapon and body are entangled in the folds and rents of the cloak, glaring at the young man.

With all the Hedge knights dead and Doreo trapped, this battle was all but over... whether he knew it or not.

"
Yes. Pie would be nice."

Red Jorro swung his ball and chain, making Argo shy away before clattering uselessly against his leg. As he brought Argo back under control, Nathaniel and Lord Davain had disabled the bandit.

As Jorah was mounted and it changes nothing, I'm presuming that it was a maneuver as knockdown doesn't apply.

Bone yields grudgingly to steel as the sheer weight of the greatsword cleaves Doro's arm above the elbow. He tumbles to the ground crying wildly and cradling the stump as his blood pools erratically beneath it, before passing out.

Ser Jorah Holt wrote:"
Remember Lord Davain, we are not on your lands. The right of pit and gallows should be exercised by the lord of these lands."

"
It's no great loss, Ser. They got what they deserved in the end, an' Lady Lily is safe. Ser Adham an' their lord father'll be glad at the news."

[Awaiting the clue we talked about. It goes without saying, but perhaps we discover it as we search them and take their equipment.]

"
I doubt he'll be much use to us now though. We should look around;
if he was in league with slavers, then there might be some information here that could help us."

He cleaned his blade on a discarded piece of cloth before sheathing it and cantering over to where Trelane and Lilly were astride his horse.

"
Hello, my name is Ser Jorah Holt of House Coldbrook. You are safe now."
he let that sink in before continuing, "
I believe my squire has already introduced himself, but the others here are Lady Marsten, Lord Bartheld, Ser Loreia, Luecian Longbow of House Dulver and Nathaniel Mason. We are here to return you to your family."
He knew that this provoke a reaction;
exactly what he was not sure though.

[Awareness (empathy) at TN 12 please.]

Did someone want to spend a DP for a minor clue too? This was discussed in the OOC forum. You're getting nothing out of Red Dorro apart from his lifeblood, given he was defeated with a vicious weapon.]

At Ser Jorah's words, Lily throws off her family's reputation for decorum and throws herself at Corrine, wrapping her arms around the Lady of Hartshorn and sobbing something in her ear.

Corrine puts her arms around Lily, a little taken aback, but eager to comfort the girl. She answered the hirls sobs and muttering with soothing but purposeful words, trying to make sure Liky knew she could trust her.

"
It's alright, Lily. They cannot harm you anymore. I'm going to take you to safety, and you will be alright. Don't worry, I will take care of you. Come, we'll get on my horse."

She turned to call to the others.

Nathan continues to the brothel as the nobles fawn over the girl and congratulate themselves on their victory. Their work was all but finished. Nathan's had just begun.

He could barely hide his disgust as he entered the rat's nest of a building. Animals were kept in better conditions. It was brothels like this that gave his profession a bad name and he would be the first to join every Septon in Westeros to demand it's destruction. A young man threatens him with a weapon. Nathan looks at him with sympathy as his hand trembles uncontrollably.

"
Put the sword down before you hurt yourself."
An attractive woman in her 30's approaches Nathan. "
Your reputation precedes you 'Lord of Decadence'. I admit I did not expect you to be so young."

Nathan winces at the appellation. "
Please, Madam. Notoriety is a heavy enough burden without such a title."

She smiles. "
So he is dead then."

"
Yes, cut in half by Lord Davain, and well deserved if you ask me."

"
So what happens to us?"

"
That is up to you, Madam. Those that still wish to work in the profession and have a talent for it may work for me, or perhaps work in another capacity. Those that wish to return to the families or otherwise continue their lives may do so with what help I can provide."

The woman nods. "
I suppose we best start packing."

"
If you mean steal anything that isn't nailed down or can't be pried up, I agree."
he smiles. "
When all is said and done, I fully intend to burn this shit hole to the ground as a message to other brothel owners."

"
If so, we best release the poor souls in the torture cells first."
replies the woman smoothly.

"
Yes."
says Nathan with a flicker of surprise, although he shouldn't have been. "
That would be best."

Ser Jorah nodded to Lady Corrine;
at this point, it would be best to get the young woman away from the carnage. However, something still felt a little odd. he walked over to Loreia and whispered to her.

"
Ser Loreia, would you accompany Lady Corrine just in case for me."

Afterwards, he began searching around. They may have rescued Lily Daleford, but there were others affected by a slavery ring and he wanted to put a stop to that.

Trelane's eyes narrowed, pondering Lily Daleford's behaviour, before also pondering her and Lady Corrine. Putting that thought aside, he helped Ser Jorah look around.

She nods at Jorah's order. "
Aye."

To Corrine, she calls out, "
Here, m'lady, allow me to escort ya both."

She leads her horse by the reigns to the pair of noblewomen. With her attention divided, instead of raising her voice to her hound as she passes, she grabs at his barding when she notices sudden movement, to halt him from inspecting the cloven corpse of the false knight. That is not for you. Thankfully, he appears to find sufficient distraction in the blood slicked on his barding. That's going to be a pain to clean off later.

"
I c'n help her on a mount, if she needs a hand."

As Ser Jorah hunted through the area, he came across some letters put aside. Quickly scanning them, he noted what was missing and what remained. "
Dammit,"
he swore under his breath, "
I am going to need that archer. Luecian, come here a moment please."

Trelane watched the three ladies leave, biting his lip. The situation was far from over he thought and walked over to whisper something to Jorah. The knight rubbed his eyes and nodded to Trelane, who promptly climbed on his horse and followed the three ladies.

As Trelane comes riding up Loreia looks over her shoulder and gives him a purposeful look - a tilt of her head in a slight "
nod,"
though not the word one would use to describe it, with eyes alert - and slows her horse to put herself three meters behind from the others. "

she asks as he approaches, her voice low.
