Re: Game Discussion
Would anybody volunteer to roll the Roote knight's joust against me? (Preferrably with a low ride check)

I feel like I ruled the day with all the IC stuff I did. Thank you for staying online, Reader. Totally worth it. In the Daleford thread, Corrine's turn is over and Nathan said he's delaying, so it's my turn next, but I'm gonna take a break. Might end up crashing cuz I'm tired. I need a nap.

Re: Game Discussion
So I have a question, kinda relates to the game, what do people think about spending glory / woking with victory points to reduce the time of certain holdings being built? Over powered? in the realm of possibility? interested to hear thoughts / opinions
My thought is a 5% reduction in time per glory/ VP spent.

Re: Game Discussion
Overpowered would really depend on how much reduction you get per glory/VP IMO. 5% per glory spent doesn't sound too much to my ears.

Re: Game Discussion
I see some Houses in 2 years have become stronger than other Houses that have existed the same or longer time. Having 2+ players is a nice way to also get a lot of resources for a House, so making it faster to get something I don't know if it should be ok. I understand it could be feasible to do with the right mechanics, but only for certain holdings.

In general I am opposed, and that come as being from one of the houses that I suspect Ereth meant.
I'm not saying it couldn't be done in an appropriate way, but it seems fraught with possible abuses... mostly in the form of applying OOC knowledge about when an off-season ends.

Re: Game Discussion
true, but you receive demishing returns the longer you would wait. Donating 2 glory would give a 10 % increase in speed. if something takes 30 months + 3d6 (like the majority of defensive holdings) donating 2 glory would reduce the time by only 3 - 5 months. Not significant, but It could be helpful if someone wanted to get something built a little more quickly.

Afraid this is a no from me.
Build times help slow growth. Hopefully glory has enough uses between investment in houses, qualities, bonuses to rolls and an upcoming event.

glory isn't used for qualities though

Indirectly via personal goals, it is

But that's no fun.
Everyone should have personal goal VP that requires them to do interesting things, and one should much rather do interesting things than spend glory

Damn, got me right in the feelings.
Even brief asides can pack quite a punch.

No problem! Your story is an interesting one and I loved how the Lord Frey v Ser Jon Roxton match beforehand created the potential for you to defeat the high-powered Ser Jon Roxton. Organic story telling is fun! Creates a promising long-term rivalry and links back to Ser Jon's dislike of you from story 1.
Also creates an interesting decision for Loreia (does she milk of the poppy and go back in to the lists?) and Lord Redwain (does he simply proceed? Close Lane 4 and keep Loreia champion?). Stories that lead to more stories are interesting. Look forward to seeing how various PCs react to the match (as the Septon has done so already).

Re: Game Discussion
Would that be fair to the others? I'm certainly capable of handling Ser Wyl Wheaton without injuries, but as I am, he'd probably overtake me. No, the only fair choice is between fighting on poppy milk or bowing out.

Like life, Westeros isn't fair. Anyone who says differently is selling something, as Princess Bride fans will know (apologies for the almost quotation, but we've gone longer that normal without a reference).
It's all up to Lord Redwain (if indeed you bow out), but I admire your courage.

Wyl Wheaton? Did he play Wysly Crusher on North Trek: The Winter Generation?

You know, the name is passing familiar. :;
):
He's canon too and appeared in story 1, but nobody showed much interest in his story hook.
I've actually got a bunch more canon characters to add to my spreadsheet from a recent reread of the short stories and World of Ice &
Fire.

Enjoying the various reactions from Lord Redwain's wedding guests and people taking time to flesh the story out rather than ruthlessly focusing on mechanics.

No, but that doesn't mean we don't have enough competition between each other lol

Just PC houses (well, House Kytley too, it's temporarily an NPC house), this will (hopefully) be enough of a mess on its own without requiring NPC involvement.

I have half a mind to not even bother with Market Town at all. Winner takes it all doesn't really appeal to me.
Theomore of course would love all the horse-trading involved, but I am not sure I will.
