Re: Game Discussion
unluckily I must wait for others to decide who they would like to face :/ probably I won't have chance to take care of one of Velaryon brothers, what sucks... two big, strong guys is something for Walton Fearful Alaryon and Crispin with Adaptable Bastard Sword and 2B in Strength... finally something interesting!

I know I will be able to fight a secondary at least, and if not well I guess I fight the group, perhaps Benedict might be interesting in pairing up in a 2 vs. 6 lol

Writing with a vulgar accent is difficult when you're trying for an accent people wouldn't have trouble understanding, and is finer than most smallfolk get with their pronunciation and vocabulary. I'm used to writing more eloquently, especially online. Now that I've been knighted, In-Character, Daveth has intentions to refine my speaking ability, which I'm assuming come during downtime between Redwain's wedding tourney and my visit to Dorne. Completely non-mechanical. Looking forward to leaving that dirty lowborn northern accent behind!

I think you did a good job of making Loreia coarse and sounding different to the other PCs without making your posts unreadable. It's a difficult balancing act.
I look forward to you broadening Loreia's vocabulary as a result of her lessons.

Loreia, if you want to collab with someone to make your character a proper lady, it'd be fun to do a little My Fair Lady thing with Gwyn.

DO IT!
The rain in Dorne falls mainly on the unshorn?
In Duskendale, Deepenhall and Dragonstone, Direwolves darkly dream?

Re: Game Discussion
Meant to advertise this, actually: I'm currently actually working towards Gifted Teacher (modified by Reader so as to actually almost be useful), so if anyone's looking for some kind of training for VP or narrative purposes [Edit: to avoid confusion, I will emphasise: it *won't* have any mechanical weight yet. When I have enough VP, I can offer temporary bonus dice (at a reduced TN of 6 to recall), but not yet.], it could well be worth inquiring as to if I'd be willing*, as you're likely to get a more positive response than you would before. Note that this only applies to mental or social stuff. Obviously, Daveth isn't really in a position to teach anything physical, and the benefit doesn't cover it anyway.Loreia wrote:Now that I've been knighted, In-Character, Daveth has intentions to refine my speaking ability, which I'm assuming come during downtime between Redwain's wedding tourney and my visit to Dorne. ...Can't I just talk good? Honestly I'm blank on the structure of this My Fair Lady scene you want to do.

Hehe, I'm envisioning it as a light, perhaps even comical scene where Gwyn tries to educate Loreia on how to be a fine, upstanding woman of good breeding in addition to being a horrible death-engine.

Well, if you start the thread, I'll have to follow your lead. Currently, me and Daveth are in the middle of a IC thread about Loreia's elocution - in which he gave me a large book to read(calamity!). We're just beginning my first lesson now, but I don't know if that's supposed to be end scene or if there's more.
Since Davain is armed with a greatsword, the Vicious quality would kill Doro outright. I feel like we should be taking him alive, though. Can we make an exception?

That's the drawback of using vicious weapons, cannot take someone alive.

Unless you wish to burn a DP. If you do that you can choose any consequence you like, as long as the story permits it.

Actually, no.Yoren longshore wrote:Unless you wish to burn a DP. If you do that you can choose any consequence you like, as long as the story permits it.
I'd say that burning a DP is reasonable to negate your own weapon's vicious, but that would be a house rule, not as-written.pg 72 (emphasis added) wrote:When defeated, decide the consequences of your own defeat.

Or perhaps spending a dp to prolong his life just a little longer.

Re: Game Discussion
Or if he can take an wound to reduce damage. What I would likely rule in this situation is that of Davian wished to spend a DP to give himself the long blade fighter 3 for one round and cause red to be maimed that might be allowed.
Otherwise I would laugh maniacally as you just killed your only lead

One way I might play it out as well is of her burned the DP he could get a major clue. Aka red tells his story Scooby doo villain Style and then passes away

Re: Game Discussion
Doro can't take wounds. I think spending DP to gain a one-time use of a Benefit diminishes the exclusivity and power inherent in Benefits. Also, the roll was made with bonus dice already, so he wouldn't be able to sacrifice bonus dice afterward. And generally, with any of the Fighting specialty Benefits, the rule is to declare before the roll is made which Benefit(or if any) will be used.
That said, I don't see a problem with allowing Doro to be a cut above Secondary characters by allowing him to take 1 Wound. But after that, it's up to us to be careful we don't get him killed.

This is good player thinking! Spending a DP for a minor clue as the "
Vicious"
nature of Davain's greatsword does its work.

The guy does a long and erudite monologue or conversation as his severed arm gouts buckets of blood.
Very anime.

I think we'll be steering clear of that, amusing as it would be.
It doesn't fit the setting or the relevant section from the rulebook. :;

Gives a good perspective to think about what's really going on with the events surrounding our houses.
